I know that it wasn’t until 1973 that the BPI start issuing Platinum/Gold / Silver awards but I can’t help but feel that Dog would have over 60,000 over the years to give it a silver award at the very least .
Any thoughts ?

Dog album never charted even so at the time it must of had some steady sales with Quo’s constant touring. Even Piledriver isn’t listed due to it been released in 1972. 38 weeks in the UK charts. Even so it did get an award for over 1 million sales worldwide. Quo’s BPI certified awards needs updating, interesting read though.

Any thoughts ? Often thought about that.I imagine 50 years or so on its probably Platinum let alone Gold. Its been re-released many times and the reason for that is that it has sold.In the 70's the charts only published a Top 50 so who knows how it really did.The only way would be to see copies shipped by the factory but i imagine that data is long gone. Gold in the 70s was 150 grand in sales not units shipped.I would imagine most of Quo's 70s output went Platinum with BFY being the biggest seller I would've thought.I'm not sure its possible to get accurate physical sales of these albums.
