On the back of a 50th Anniversary 'Fried Egg' reissue of the Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon LP (released last Saturday as part of Record Store Day 2020) and a limited edition 2LP mono and stereo 'flame coloured' vinyl release of the Picturesque Matchstickable Messages From The Status Quo album due in mid-September, it appears that Quo's second album is about to receive a similar limited edition release this October.
Spare Parts will be released as a limited edition 2LP mono and stereo 'gold and orange mixed coloured' vinyl set by the Music on Vinyl label in October 2020.
So frustrating that there is no mention of any of these releases on either the bands official website, facebook page or twitter feed...

Pye had been milking them for decades, so Quo decided to give Pye the silent treatment. I still like those songs though.

It's true that the Pye back catalogue was abused for many years, licenced to any Tom, Dick or Harry who wanted to knock out a cheapo CD. But all that changed when the rights were sold elsewhere. Since it came into the ownership of BMG there's only been two compilation CDs in the last 13 years. The upcoming vinyl reissue of Picturesque is the first since 2004, and that was technically an Italian import - the last proper UK issue of that LP was in 1987, 33 years ago.
