I think that's Francis counting in at the start and it sounds like Francis playing
Is this the only hit Francis wrote for somebody else?
Can anyone tell me anything else such as how did they know each other?

Good song and not bad production but spoiled somewhat by Bernie Frost's falsetto squeaking. The album it's on "Man of the World" has a strange mix of songwriters including the legendary Barry Mann and bizarrely Jim Peterik from Survivor. Besides the English language version Italian and Spanish versions with a couple of translated tracks were released. It seemed a common practice with middle of the road singers like Demis back in the 80s, Nana Mouskourri would release entire albums in English, German and French and the Italian legend Milva did the same in Italian, German and Spanish.

Rossi and Frost were into the squeaky stuff weren't they for whatever reason. Perhaps some sort of appreciation of Jeff Lynne and ELO but not quite working and quite distracting. I suppose their 'Ships In The Night' is another example.

Perhaps the connection had been through the producer David Mackay?
Francis has also appeared on what would could be seen as random artist collaborative albums with Frankie Miller and Bonnie Tyler but the common denominator is David Mackay.

Is this the only hit Francis wrote for somebody else? Was it a hit? I don't remember it being a hit in the UK but I guess it could have been elsewhere. Not that I'd have paid much attention if I'm honest. Not exactly my favourite song even when Quo did it

Is this the only hit Francis wrote for somebody else? He wrote Something bout you Baby I Like for Tom Jones, and A Mess of Blues for Elvis.

The last Demis single released in the UK was 1978, apparently. And it's more of a Bernie Frost song than Rossi. It was wrote about his wife Sylvia, and she still has a fondness for the song.

Although you have every right to call him that (there's terrible songs in his repertoire), I still think he ha wasn't a Viki or Nana. I actually like some of his work. (Tin hat on.) Rain and Tears is great and so is Schönes Mädchen Aus Arkadia. His best solo song according to me is Lay it Down. But there was more to Demis (and there was a lot of him) than most know. What about his work for Aphrodite's Child? Enjoy:
