Fantastic AC/DC is one of the greatest bands ever that's why I got a Gibson sg black guitar and self taught myself to play the guitar

Thanks rockonquo , enjoyed that. They are right, there should be some sort of recognition to AC/DC in the place they grew up in. The band scene back in the 70s/to mid 80s was brilliant. but the smoking and noise laws that were brought in had a big effect on the pub scene which killed off much of the places where up n coming bands could get exposure...such a shame.I remember going to some pubs , after the laws were brought in and the only entertainment they'd have would be some bloke playing his keyboard alongside a drum machine...boring!! When I saw Chequers nightclub, in that video, it reminded me of the time I saw The Angels there back in '77 when there were only about 50 people in the place...half way through the gig, a spinning wheel was brought out onstage where upon Doc Neeson span the wheel for a chook raffle draw. I'm glad I didn't win a chook as who'd want to be watching the band hanging onto a bloody chook ffs. Good to see Mark Evans in that video. I read his book 'Dirty Deeds' a while back and it was a good read. Currently I'm a few chapters into Malcolm Young's book 'The Man who made AC/DC' which is also interesting.

bugger it, as Mark Evans said Countdown was integral to AC/DC reaching the masses here before they took off to England. This is the video that really gave them that kick...all paid for by ABC (Aussie taxpayers )...Jailbreak

I was lucky enough to see AC/DC on their very first tour of the UK. Me and sis popped along to a town hall in Edinburgh (now Leith Assembly Rooms and it was called the Citadel back then; for anyone who knows the area). There were maybe 50 people there and I'm sure it was in the afternoon because it was daylight when we came out. The show had loads of music videos and a fair scattering of scantily clad schoolgirls - a la St Trinians. Not really sure what that was about but obviously didn't care. I was 19 I'd bought High Voltage on the strength of hearing the single It's a Long Way To The Top.... on the radio and thought they might be worth checking out. I think I might have been right! They went on to slightly bigger things
