Everyone okay by the way, the virus missing you out I hope. I got it way back January, three days of hot and cold, sore throat and general shitness. We had a language student from China's Hubei province staying with us from 27/12 until 16/01 so all that about December 31st is cobblers. Students expected from China started cancelling or not showing up from late November onwards. My wife was very ill and it was touch and go whether they carted her off to isolation, remember the hotel idea?
Hope your are all okay.

I'm actually just in the door from Tesco. Queued about half an hour to get in surrounded by (well 6ft from ) would-be surgeon lookalikes. I don't actually know anyone personally who has contracted the virus. Not knowingly anyway. But me and my dad have been practising social distancing for about 30 years so we should be OK. We're both miserable ba$tards He turns 90 in a fortnight and he's loving it because no one can visit him. He told me that on the phone this morning. The woman along the corridor (he's in a first floor flat) is going to make him a birthday cake and they're going to sit in their own doorways and have a blether. She's 45, the old letch He's also as fit as a flea. Hopefully, everyone on here is OK. My sister and brother-in-law both have 'conditions' through decades of smoking so they're pretty much locked in. Me & Mrs Mortified are just enjoying each other's company. The plus side. Great title for the thread by the way. Nice one.

We have been socially distancing for a long while, apart from the kids and my mum and brother we don't need anybody else. I was prepared for lock down by my experiences of 1960's Sundays.

Sitting here typing this with an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach.
My wife's cousin has text me this morning saying he is in A&E as not been feeling too well last couple of days. He works in the health sector. Strange feeling waiting for news.
After my wife died a few years ago her cousin and me got to know each other well as both guitar players. He travels down from up north to stay with me and my daughter down south for a week or two. All my guitars and pedals and stuff take over the living room and we have a beer and just jam. Do a few gigs as well. He's an excellent guitarist.
We were exchanging videos on our phones of our latest guitar exploits just 48 hrs ago but yesterday he said he wasn't feeling right. All things crossed that he may just have some other bug which is always possible, but it's not a good feeling waiting to hear. Brings home how it must be terrible times for many folk caught up in this virus. Just the speed of events can be mind blowing.

Thanks CG.
I have just spoken to him on the phone. He was in A&E for a number of hours. Had various tests done as he has underlying problems so a relief to hear that the Docs couldn't pinpoint anything specifically this time, including Covid.
Needs to take things easy though.

For me - IF I had it - the bad bit came and went relatively quickly, about 3 weeks ago. Within 30 mins of profusely sweating on my face (without a high temperature), I slipped into a 'coma'.
About 9 hours later my brain slowly started processing that my eyes were seeing things again and, bit by bit, my 'faculties' returned, over a 3 hour period. It was a very fast entry. There was no time from my realizing "something is wrong, who should I phone?" to my 'total shutdown'. So no time for any panic or fear.
Because I have been feeling 'a bit strange' for the past 2-3 months, I can only assume I have it, or had it then? - and that 9 hours was the spike/trough from which my antibodies pulled me through?
Having never had that kind of experience before in my 60 years, I think I had it and fought off the spike - but not sure if I will ever know
