They were supposed to play a couple of songs live, but due to the rain it became a playback performance. Think they did Whatever You Want and Rockin All Over The World. Will have been around the time the stadium was opened up, so May 2005ish

Then I dont know, I only have seen (and heard) very, very few clips from soundchecks, and personally I think it sounds very odd that a soundcheck version should be better than a live version, as soundchecks always lacks the energy you’ll get in front of a crowd

It's not too shabby at all. and theres no guitar bending Is the 'bending' the worst feature of post 70s versions of Caroline for you? I can live with that, but not the hugely intrusive piano which completely changes the feel of the song - utterly awful. (Not meant as offensive to Andy because plenty of his keyboard work has complimented songs structured with keys from the outset, such as Mountain Lady or Dust to Gold, as opposed to 'pub piano' being lumped on top of guitar songs like Caroline). OP, never seen the YouTube clip mentioned, and thought that I had seen all of them lol...are you sure you didn't dream it :-)

I've never heard of this either but much like Quoincidence I tend not to watch soundchecks and things like that. Unless I stumble across them by accident. I've seen a few but they're all much of a muchness. Incidentally, as an aside and picking up the Australian point, me and Mrs Mortified saw the band in Sydney in 2010. It rained on the day of the gig! The only time it did while we were there! That Quo cloud is real

At least a 10 year old clip, maybe much much older.

Students all appreciated the tight rhythm yet jolly vibe.

Tightest groove for reasons described in first post. I appreciate the other flavours too, but just looking for this one shade of uniqueness.
