Wasn't at that gig, but remember watching a couple of audience videos as I waiting with excitement to see them in Glasgow. I never saw them back in the day, so went along expected to enjoy the gig more than the current band based on the fact that the setlist would be more oreientated to the 70s stuff. Was a little unprepared to find out that they played these songs so much better than I had previously seen. The songs all just had a different, much better feel, than I had previously experienced, I was completely blown away. I still have the CD bought on the night on my MP3 player and listen to it regularly, hasn't lost any of its magic.
Also went to one of the Hammersmith shows on that tour, which was phenomenal. The following year I did the same again, Hammersmith and Glasgow.

7 years. Oh man. 2 amazing nights in Glasgow, meeting the other fans and a few SQMB members, the meet and greet. My best time as a fan.

What an incredible, emotional night. And unique too, in terms of standing watching Quo & genuinely not knowing what was coming next in the setlist. Some wonderful surprises. It was rough around the edges, but the 'magic' was there. Quickly forgave them for bolting that date on after the original ones, meaning I had to book yet more flights in order to see the 'first' gig! And the Hammersmith shows were even better. I did 7 of the FF gigs, and my only regret is not getting to more.

People do knock frame for not carrying on indefinitely but I am forever grateful that they did those two tours. I do think it was the right decision to call it s day when they did.
I still have the memories and yep, it will never be topped. Kind of drew a line under a large part of my quo fandom and made me reappraise the 72-77 period.

Not knowing what was coming next in the set was what made it unique for the crowd, no previous night set lists to Google, made it all the more special...

Was at the second Manchester gig. It was like the previous 30 yrs hadnt happened. All was right with the world. Had a pint or two and then went to go watch the number 1 rock and roll band in the laaaand. It was like they had never been away. Will never see Status Quo again, but the memories live long.

The tragedy is that it didn't happen much sooner & then run for much longer. Decades of missed opportunities. Still, we have to be thankful that it happened at all - they nearly left it too late.

There can't be many fans of many bands who've experienced the sort of audience reaction we were part of
"Amazing" doesn't do it justice

Ah but rather than hold it against the man that he didn't record what would undoubtedly be inferior music, enjoy what we did get.

The FF were the first band I ever saw. I was delighted to hear of the reunion, and doubly so when the first gig turned out to be the nearest venue to me! I went to all the Manchester FF reunion shows and after the last one (which had been particularly superb) I knew in my heart that I'd come full circle and no "current Quo" gig could ever be anywhere near as good. The Rainbow chappie is quite right... JC was the foundation of the Quo sound.
