I had heard the snippets already a couple of days ago on that site. The way it looks for me so far:
Tracks that I really am interested to hear further:
Waiting for a woman Cut me some slack (!) I see you're in some trouble (!) Backing off (!) I wanna run away with you Better take care Get out of my head (!)
Ok track:
Liberty Lane
Not sure about:
Falling off the world Running out of time
Don't like:
Backbone
So this could turn out to be a pretty good album.

I know its Status Quo but they seem to just be recording the same song and varying the tempo slightly. The vocal seems to be the same tone and pitcxh in very song. I will download it when it comes out. Then judge it. Based on the clips I suspect it will be another in the long line of 2/5 Status Quo albums. Ok but uninspired and a shadow of what came before.

It can't be like what came before, not without Rick, it's that simple. But that doesn't mean it nessecarely has to be a bad album and if it indeed still sounds to me like a combo of UTI, HT and QPQ after hearing the whole songs then I will enjoy the album because I especially enjoyed UTI and QPQ... will it be like anything that came from NTL and further back ? No, it just can't be.

No, it just can't be. I know some of the reasons why it’s different. Different can be really good. Other bands have changed lineups etc and styles and still released quality releases. If others like it, fair does. It’s simply not very good to my hear. If anyone likes the albums post Riffs, I am sure they will enjoy this. To me it’s not so much a question Rick or no Rick. I will wait till I hear the album properly before discussing it more.

I'd beg to differ, even the last few albums with Rick were a bit pish with no real worthy compositions from him either way, although having not listened to anything off it yet apart from the two released songs I'm clueless regardless.

Hmm. Just clips of course, but the only ones to grab me are number 8 Better Take Care and 10 Get out of my Head.

Hi guys,
The samples should not be taken too seriously as they are only of a short nature. But in this connection it is apparent that we have a very special album to look forward to in a month or therefore.
The marvellous John David track could be a Christmas number one but it also might be the anthem for a Quo Deal Brexit. Do not rule out a Quo Deal! Better than a No Deal and it will help people during food shortages should they occur though no one in Swizterland wants to see our British friends in difficult. We are not in the EU but we have our own trade arrangements.
Any rate me ducks as they say in Basingstoke, enjoy the clips!
See you out there somewhere soon...

Haha Quo deal Brexit! Does that mean the value of the pound will go down down, deeper and down?

It sounds ok....not great...but ok. But for the millionth time, just wish it was just under the name of Francis Rossi, instead of Status Quo. Oh well, turn it up loud and try to enjoy i guess....

All members of the band contributed to a Status Quo album, why put anything under the name of anything else?

Almost regret saying I liked Backbone, very fed up of it now!
Hard to judge on my laptop, first impressions are of very little variety, lots of care with the vocals, and plenty of stuff I will like for a time.
If I'm hearing the lyrics to Liberty Lane right, they are very nostalgic...

Well, all I hear is the arrangements of the Winner over and over again. Very much a typical Rossi offering but made to sound Quo'ish in bits. Even if others contributed it has ended up like a Rossi solo album. I guess there is no getting away from that.

2 or 3 songs are a little bit like real quo Songs The rest are Rossi soloalbum type songs tried to quod up a little bit and failed, like on many recent albums a posh and too clean production, there are a one or two real rock singers missing. No light and shade average pop/rocksongs. Nothing to stand the test of time.
Songs like Shine On or Lucinda are gods gift compared to the songs on Backbone.
It could be the best Rossi Soloalbum but nothing more.
