Wolfman, It's an interesting question for me...A lot about how I used to see those sort of things has changed big time over the years for me. I guess one of the simplest reasons is that one grows older, for me anyway. I used to have Francis as the one for me for years. Like many I got annoyed sad and everything else in behaviours from him in more recent years. He became like an anti hero to me at first. On th other hand, the simple fact is also that Rick often enough hasn't been a saint either and showed some big time arsehole behavior as well. As good and enjoyable the music of artists can be, they are not always nice people. But that doesn't mean that I suddenly dislike their music. Most of everythign between 70 and 81 has memories for me that are so intense and important that I could never deny what Francis was to me back then and reliving it just takes me back to good and positive memories...and I see nothing wrong with that...but the "hero" feeling I have about just about all artists nowadays is that in the end they are people and they can dissapoint you. He, and in different ways Rick, Alan and John will always be more special to me then many other artists ços they gave me a whole lot of absolutely wonderful times and helped me through some of the most difficult stages in life. Nowadays I just don't deny the fact anymore that even heroes can turn out to be arses as people.
