Brilliant read! Started lots of memories as HT also became my return to Quo as an active follower. I didnt get to see them until february 2005 (first time in nine years) but I was also blown away; how good they were with Matt and how great the HT songs worked in the set (by that time the oriental had been added to the set and the title song was gone). Many thanks for sharing!

Thanks keyfodge, I enjoyed your article and can't believe the Heavy Traffic album was released 17 years ago! Wow...I mean for me, my peak Quo period,as in albums and seeing them live, was from 1975 to 1980...a mere 5 years. Funny how in this year of 2019 I still have a passing interest in them. Loyalty I guess.

Very nice thaank you. This was a great time for me as not only did I like Heavy Traffic the album, but the set contained the trio ROLD/Gerdundula/4500 Times, which is most of what I require from them (apart from a few dozen other remarkable tracks, of course.) I'd never thought of Rock'n'Roll as being the Zep track most like Quo of course when that came out, Quo were just starting to rev up. But Rock'n'Roll is by a narrow margin my favourite Zep track, though to work really well it needs a voice like Robert Plant's and a guitarist like Jimmy Page. It's one of Zep's most covered tracks, though. Funnily one of the Quo supports, a duo whose name I do not remember, played that one year.
“It’s all just 3 chords and one riff!” cried the critics. “WE WISH!” responded the fans! Quite right too!
My dad upset my ear for rock for a fairly short time by commenting that he didn't like the regular drum beats in pop and rock songs. Admittedly the drummer at work at the time was not Ginger Baker, and it was a sincere comment on his part. I don't think my dad was ever a dance band fan.
The only thing that stops Creepin being a stalker song is that Rick probably couldn't be bothered stalking anything that wasn't a car. And yes, it does rock.
Thanks for the report!
