Well, those of you who also look into the other forum every now and then probably know about this, but I suppose I should also share it here... I've started a forum about one of my favourite bands. tearsforfears.boards.netIf you like them, you're welcome to join in (and also to make suggestions for improvements, etc.). If you've seen the band on their current UK/Ireland tour - their first in a decade - I would love to read your gig reports in the appropriate section: tearsforfears.boards.net/board/5/concertsIf you don't like them, close the tab

I think the lyrics for Mad World are unsurpassed in the youth angst field.I thought it was irony par excellence when a song with the lyrics "I find it kinda funny,I find rather sad.The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had" was used to promote Lloyds bank.

Did I really not post on this thread for four years? Well, a few things have happened... We got a new album last year! And that was also released as a limited Blu-ray audio with 5.1 and Dolby Atmos mixes by Steven Wilson. This same treatment is now being applied to the band's debut album. You can still preorder until Friday, then you're out of luck. superdeluxeedition.com/news/tears-for-fears-the-hurting-on-sde-exclusive-blu-ray-audio/(If you're in the UK, it's much cheaper than for me in Germany.)

Funnily enough, I listened to some of The Hurting the other day. Still a half decent album even now.
There was a BBC documentary about the making of Songs From the Big Chair on TV not that long ago. I recorded it but haven't got round to watching it yet.

I was more of a Top Man frequenter. The "Physique" brand With occasional dalliances at Smith's Arena in Bread Street. In the days before Paul Smith became unaffordable And you could never ignore Cockburn Street market for that little bottle of patchouli

I enjoyed them on the day although I've never heard an album. I like Cold Shelter Cold Shelter is a good one It's actually Pale Shelter. I'm a bit too young to have seen them at Knebworth! Though I have the double CD and the Blu-Ray, and heard the full radio broadcast - which was marred with some technical issues due to the rain. It's hard to believe that this was the last gig with Curt before he left and this whole line-up fell apart. You wouldn't really know it from watching them. This will always be one of my favourite performances ever. Jimmy Copley (who I saw drum for Manfred Mann's Earth Band years later and who sadly died some years ago) and Oleta Adams on piano & vocals were such great additions to the band. Who'd have thought Tears for Fears could play blues? And Roland's voice was at its peak in 1990.

Pale Shelter is a brilliant song. I think one of Tears For Fears came from Portsmouth. Descent lad if true!
