I think so yeah, I think he knows that rossi would replace him without a second thought No, I don't think so. Francis couldn't and wouldn't replace Rick. Francis & Rick are Status Quo, so if Rick were replaced there wouldn't be any Quo anymore, just the Francis Rossi Band. And I think I remember Francis saying that he wouldn't mind Rick playing gigs with Alan and John, but not as Status Quo, of course.

I'm actually amazed Rick, Alan and John haven't done a couple of gigs themselves with someone else replacing Francis, maybe they are holding out for a change of mind or to leave a bit of time pass between the 2 previous tours and the hopeful final one

I don't think he's scared at all. Whether a tour of any description between the three has ever been discussed - i don't know, possibly, who knows. But you can't have Rick, spud and nuff without frame !!!

I think it's a gamble if Parfitt left cq. Rossi would finish cq & retire & Parfitt would start all over again touring in the uk only.

Rather the other way round if Quo would fold for whichever reason: Francis would continue with his solo stuff and record and tour with the Francis Rossi band again and Rick would retire and sell real estate in Spain. Francis is the musician and Rick is the rock star, so Rick wouldn't be interested in playing clubs/small venues with PLC, although he may do the occasional Rock Meets Classic thingy playing the hits to huge adoring audiences same as he did last year. Francis will never do that.

Francis and Rick (in terms of their presence together at all times) are the obvious constant from the mid 60's to date.
Anything is always possible of course, but if we are to see Alan and John in any Quo guise again, it will be the 'real deal' as the FF as the most likely option. *She says hoping*
Francis might be the front man in terms of Quo, but his own solo band (as great as it is) derives most all of its source to songs that Francis has written with Quo, or songs not deemed suitable for Quo - with just a few isolated exceptions. On that basis, Francis has not taken the step forward as a complete solo musician - he may like the idea of independence, but in reality Quo is, and always will be his comfort zone.
He might write more prolifically than Rick, have a wider role musically, but in real terms, based on the above, he is no more, or less a 'musician' than Rick

To be honest he should've rebooted his career back in the 80s after Alan was sacked. Francis and Rick will retire as Status Quo and it's a damn fine hook to hang your hat on .

I would go...but feck it..I want.the dickhead there too... Francis would have done quo without rick. .if he could have and would still do if he could... If for whatever reason Rick leaves or had to leave CQ Rossi would of course carry on without him and still tour calling the band Statusquo as it would still make more money than any solo thing he'd do.
Though I'd go see the so called PLC which would be good for sure..(as it was when they messed around with it in 85) though without Rossi it wouldn't be the real Quo, same as panto has never been the real Quo without Alan.
As for Rick, he'll run with the hare and hunt with the hound then roll over and do whatever Rossi says.. doh

As I mentioned on the old board, if Alan John & Rick tour without Francis, regardless of whether any replacements are brought in, they should call the band Sans Francis Quo. Although, to use the Quo name at all they may have to do something convoluted like:
.....John Coghlan's Quo..... ............featuring............ ........Alan Lancaster........ .................&................. .Rick Parfitt of Status Quo.

That was Rossi sticking the boot in and putting Rick back in his box, as at the time Rick was banging on about they should do more reunion gigs/tours.!!
