Would be interesting to know how the single came about. The event organisers probably noticed how massive Quo were in the build up to Live Aid with Rockin' All Over The World advertising the whole event so asked them to do something for their event. Isn't this also around the time David Walker came into the band?

This version with the Rockin' All Over The World lyrics is my favourite version of the song - fuller than the original.

Would be interesting to know how the single came about. In the original Sport Aid event in 1986, Tears For Fears re-recorded 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World' as 'Everybody Wants to Run the World'. For the second event, in 1988, Quo were asked to re-record 'Rocking All Over The World' as the events anthem in keeping with the Tears For Fears number two years previously. Sport Aid ceased organising high profile events after 1988 which is why no further charity singles were released after Quo.

I hope it made a good deal of money for the charity and probably helped Quos profile at the time. But it’s still a re recording of one of Quos worst ever songs(yes i know it’s a cover) in my opinion Cheers

I remember how I cringed by seing Jeff using two bass drums in this video, it looked extremely stupid and ”non-quo”. I still cant understand why he had it, and it still looks extremely non-quo IMO

Is it just me or is Rhino completely out of synch with Francis and Rick in the guitar swinging at the end? Terrible video anyway.

Was he ever in time doing it anyway? and tbh most of the time he looked like he was using it as a weapon Can't stand the Running video or the Bridges one for the mere fact that they were done cheap... and aren't pleasing to watch. Whose bright idea was it to shoot videos inside of a very drab looking studio. For the Running video, I don't get why they didn't just use the footage from the Birmingham '88 gig... or whatever gig it is that features in the video

The difference though is TFF really had to, as they bailed out of Live Aid at the last minute and Bob Geldof was furious. "Run the World" also had a video, but it didn't show anything from the band:
