No Royalty statements?... too trusting or very naive.
Interesting about the exaggerated sales etc. All sorts of shenanigans probably went on especially in the 70s and in terms of the charts. Though there is no doubting they and other top acts did sell truckloads of records in those days.

Alan says it was easy to "oust everyone", but even John admits he walked out in a huff (though it seems the management took swift steps to make sure he stayed out). Alan definitely was ousted, I don't suppose we will ever know how much was a plot and how much was "just luck" from Francis's point of view. And Rick appears not to have been ousted by anyone except his own declining health over 30 years later. It occurs to me (suddenly, I clearly should be concentrating on something else ) that Francis turning against "all things Quo" sounds like what I read somewhere quite a long time ago somebody once called "Divorce sydrome" where one partner becomes disenchanted and from then on sees everything that happened in the past, good or bad, as devalued and no longer worth anything. It's very destructive as there's no longer anything to hang onto.
