At least after this album, they got the A-sides and the B-sides the right way round for once.

Another instance of Rossi's ongoing Quoicide

I don't think anything they've done has made me angry. Just gradually and slowly disappointed.
The angel voices bit on ITABW (album) made me very annoyed. And I wasn't even a fan at that point.

First time I've heard it. It's also the last. Horseshit. So you love it! I'm getting the hang of decoding your posts.

Every post 81 album has a few songs that are pretty good, some better than pretty good, most that are forgettable, and some that could have been classics with a real rhythm section like Coghlan and Lancaster.
But this ain't one of them.
They also have some that are incredibly awful, like Tommy or The Oriental.

Can't agree about Fakin The Blues, always liked the track and the album - cd version of the album especially. I've called it the out of place album on here in the past, cos to me that's exactly what it was. A great rocking and guitars up front album from Quo with great new riffs and songs, which in my view, the classic line up would have been proud to release, sandwiched between their most average and poppy records before and after. For me it was a throw back to the mid to late 70's in writing and attitude. It could have been even better at the time of course, Heavy Daze, Mysteries From The Ball from those sessions for example would have made decent album tracks. This album along with Heavy Traffic is probably as close the post 85 version of the band came to being like classic Quo to me. My custom made cd running order of this album: One Man Band Like A Zombie Fakin' The Blues No Problems Good Sign All We Really Wanna Do Rock 'Til You Drop Let's Work Together Heavy Daze Mysteries From The Ball Bring It On Home Nothing Comes Easy Warning Shot The Price Of Love Works for me anyway.

That's the sort of post I could have done myself maybe ten years ago. I think lots of fans really warmed to RTYD because it was guitary. "Best album since NTL" was often said, which had been ten years previously. It perhaps wasn't a great accolade but it was true. It is a good sound, and why they abandoned it I don't know. There's also many niggles and things that annoyed. Didn't like the cover. Hated the backing vocals and keys on cant give you more. That old album track was the single, and then they did Lets Work Together when asked onto TOTP. No belief. As with AC, best songs relegated to b sides or fanclub only releases. I've gone off the material quite a bit. Still love One Man Band, mysteries from ball, heavy daze, good sign and bring it on home. I've gone off the others. I haven't listened to 4500x for years and will give it a try sometime.

A faint echo of a once great band.

Rock Til You Drop is a great album from an excellent period for the line-up at the time.

Never like the duo angle since 85 either, and although I like the pic of Rick and Francis, I wouldn't have used as an album cover for Status Quo. Either full band or no band members at all for me. I think Quoincidence from here produced a black and red RTYD artwork which I saw either on here or a video from YouTube and that works far better as album cover. So thanks for that.

Rock Til You Drop is a great album from an excellent period for the line-up at the time. Those were the days when they played a 3 hour show in 90 minutes. It Just sounded wrong. Rich was never the right drummer in the band. They were a bang average rock band. With no new material of any note.
