They have tried many times to write something similar but just can’t nor can they bottle the great sound.

Although I've never really shared the view that Blue For You is "easily the best" of all Quo albums ( for me Piledriver, Hello, Quo, On The Level are better ) the playing on it demonstrates a band that have matured and mastered the studio completely
- the drums, the complimentary/counter-playing rhythm guitars and the inventive bass lines on many of the songs on the album are just great.........it's just a chemistry....
In comparison, post 86 Quo sounds like a band that just throw naive/bland and wall of sound "block-rhythm" at many songs......

I'm not a massive fan of BFY, but it's got some top songs on it that helped me to get into Quo properly and as Flats says, this song has the Quo sound in spades, it's simple song and not poppy but would get my attention if it came on the radio once or twice.
I never really pondered on the history of the Quo sound, I didn't have time really, coming in in 1982, but when ITAN came out, the first "real" album since 1982, it was obvious that the sound had changed, and not for the better. The quality was still there, but the real unique signature sound was gone, finally evaporated, and has barely shown a flicker since.
