I caught the bus to Sunderland and came home with Master of Puppets.
Greatest metal album of all time. Status quo may have been back but I wasnt interested. Traitor Quo were so unappealing for me compared to the emerging Thrash scene.
I know what you mean, although for me it meant a move in the opposite direction as I got even more interested in Blues & even, whisper it, Folk &, yes I admit it, Country!

To be fair, you also bought Madonna’s True Blue album at the same time.

As you well know that didn’t come out for a good couple of months later.

Nothing wrong with country.
Copperhead road is a classic album.
Aye, & I've just booked tickets to see Steve Earle again when he plays the Barbican in July!

Bloody age. I've always hated Country, but with the years I find my resistance failing. Give it another 10 years and I'll probably love it.
I mostly listen to blues rock now
paradiseflats I've never listened to Steve Earle, I'll give Copperhead Rd a go.

I don't know anything about Steve Earle except I've now listened to Copperhead Rd three or four times. It's clearly a great album, with a timeless sound not many managed in the late 80's.
But is it "Country"? I can hear irish influences and hard rock too. If this is country, I don't what what country is, but I like it!

Steve Earle is not as rock as Blackberry Smoke :
& some of his material can be quite country indeed, & some more folk/americana - it's a pain when these people don't stay in their box & conform to the labels that get stuck on them!

I did line dance one summer just for a change, and enjoyed it, except it got cliquey, and some of the music is goo. ROLD was great for a long dance though. These things are always OK when the music is OK.
We used to think it was the ability to love that made us human. Now we know it is the ability to select squares with crosswalks in them.
dennis Dear lord I hope Porter doesn't see that Rockin' all over the world vid or he'll have his next marketing ploy, Quo -The Line Dance Album with accompanying workout dvd, I better tell Andy to dust down his lycra shorts...
