Pretty much impossible as it'll always change, but I've taken a stab at it.

9.
8.
7.
6.

3.

Oh, just missing out on a top ten place;

4th Chord some really good choices and an interesting mix, this is one to ponder before coming up with a list, specially when you're older.

For each 'chart position' there's probably 1/2 dozen other contenders. A lot of it for me comes down to taking me back to a time in my life, as music does!

Here's ten I can think from the top of my head, but there's so many to choose. No particular order.

This will be quite difficult for me 4th. As none of my top 10 songs are from the 80's onwards, I'll have to go with my top 10 from the 60's and top 10 from the 70's. Now where do I start.

too many to choose from, really - but here's a few that come to mind [no particular order]
it'd be a different selection in a few hours/days, of course!

correct 10 is almost impossible as there is so much music I love.
However in no order nor in chronological order.
Todays list...which does definitely have at least some that would make any list. I am only going to choose one per band as otherwise it could all come from one band/artist.
I had better stop but one more...
How could I forget...

Even without any Bruce Springsteen?

I don't think it can be done, but here are some that stick ...
First indication that Metal might exist ...
First indication that Rock (and roll) might exist...
Best aircraft song ...
Time takes its toll ...
Never mind three chords, this man does the whole thing with one.
