"Bye bye, Johnny, I'm all shook up Bebopalula, rock around the clock You may or may not know But you'll never rock alone"
A band dying on its arse.

But what about this one? (iPod shuffle decided I should listen to.). I think they need to find some new lyrics.

1982 is actually a pretty decent album. It's not Quo, of course, but it's fun to listen to.

I still quite like 1982, but ILR&R isn't one of the best on it IMO. Dull.

1982 is of course not one of the best albums, however, I don't hate it at all, there are some tracks on it that I like very much and could have just as well been songs of Never too late, particularly Doesn't matter. She don't fool me, Get out and walk, Resurrection, Dear John, Doesn't matter and I should have known are the tracks I like... but I love rock and roll ? nah, sorry, not for me...

I haven't listened to that track or album since ...erm.... probably 1982. It ended it for me with studio output. Is 36 yrs enough of a passage of time to give it another go?
Didn't last much longer than a minute listening to I love Rock and Roll, so might give it a while longer . I have some recollection of the tracks Victor quoted ( Dear John is a big no for me ) and I vaguely recall I thought She Don't Fool Me was okish , others have been completely erased from memory . Do I stay with blissful ignorance (which is basically all Quo from that album onwards) or do I dip back and see if my more eclectic taste of music I have now can take it , just pretend its not Quo? Dunno - might give em a quick listen and see ...

Pretty much agree with all of that except that I did buy ISOTFC when it came out (probably the novelty of being on vinyl) but only listened to it a couple of times and then QPQ on cd which I listened to a few times and had a few favourites, but it is interminably long and gets boring. I keep meaning to listen to Heavy Traffic as the concensus on the boards seem to suggest some slight of return to form, but I haven't tried it yet. Haven't listened to 1982 for probably the same amount of years as you. Let us know what your verdict is.

Well I just listened to all of She Don't Fool Me from start to finish, which is better than I managed with I Love Rock and Roll ! To my mind it just needs Quoing up a bit and it would be ok - remix getting rid of a the backing singing would help for a start. Found the line Don't fool meeeeeiiieeeeee at the end of the chorus a bit grating . Guitar rhythm almost needs slowing down a bit to make it more of a chug along (more down beat than upbeat if that makes sense- its not a celebratory song)....oh and delete some unnecessary keys .

I just don't get it ! how can anyone like that album , its a crap album ,they'd lost all interest from the writing good songs perspective .
All above songs are just stuff chucked together with old riffs and corny cheesy lines.

Love it when Nuff gets into it with ‘and I’m ready Teddy ready to rock...’ Alan always added character into the songs he sung. A great voice for Quo.

She Don't Fool me, Get out and Walk, Resurrection, Dear John....some great tracks on this much maligned album. I'll take it over any album that followed it.
