I was at the Friday gig. Great line up with The Alarm and INXS also on the bill.

Looking at it from another point of view...
Not near the magic of the FF or even with Pete but, as a stand alone band, top class

Support to Queen ... funny thing is, I don't remember anything about the other bands, even Queen, apart from a vague memory that I saw the Alarm somewhere, and they were good. Or what I did with the Mr while I was in the crowd. Maybe he was lurking further back. This would be the first tour with John and Jeff. I think that's what I remember.

I don't remember which one I went to... only that I went on my own having split up with my ex. so was a bit down anyway. A bit strange with the new guys. I enjoyed Quo and Queen but nothing like the heady days of the 70's gigs. I don't remember the other bands at all

I went to the Saturday gig, Inxs, Alarm, Quo and Queen. I think it rained in the afternoon, but I can't remember, as it's over 31 years ago

I went on the Friday. It rained when Queen were on. It was sunny during the afternoon.
I had no idea who the new guys were that had replaced Alan and Pete. I must have already seen them do Rollin' Home on TOTP, but perhaps just assumed that they were session men filling in temporarily. After all, we had been used to Alan not being around during the Back to Back campaign.

I don't even think they made an official announcement about the line up changes so they let the fans figure it out for themselves. If the videos weren't bad enough their stage presence with the Marx brothers was a huge shock to the system. Dexy's Quo. Out of my respect of Mr. Lancaster and the legacy of Status Quo I made an oath to never see this so called band again and that held true until the reunion concerts. If the new image wasn't bad enough the new music was abysmal. It still leaves a sour taste in my mouth, all these years on.

Maybe it was Francis’s way of welcoming the new fellas into the band with one of their famous ‘self gratification ‘ ceremonies. ;-)

I was at the Friday gig. Great line up with The Alarm and INXS also on the bill. So was I,were you the bloke in the White T shirt? To be really honest I thought Queen were incredible bearing in mind I've never owned a Queen album. It was the first time I'd seen the new line up and wasn't the only one muttering "They're in a rush" and "This ain't Status Quo".It was also odd to see the band who no-one would fancy of following on stage from 74 to 84 relegated to support band with a timed slot, special guests my arse.

I remember INXS getting some early grief until the guitarist caught a beer can that had been thrown..crowd liked him for that and let them play.
