We saw the New Year in with style thanks to the awesome Raw Brit, who played at a packed Yarraville Club on 31st December. They entertained us with three sets of around 45-50mins each and slotted in four Quo songs, in the shape of "Wild Side of Life", "Pictures of Matchstick Men" (for the first time, as part of their set comprised of songs solely from 1968), "Caroline" and "Rockin' All Over The World". They did a fine job of all the Quo songs and the dance floor was packed each time. It was good to hear them tackling "Pictures of Matchstick Men" for the first time too, with a standout lead vocal from Bob Spencer. During their 1968 set, they played a song called " Race with the Devil" from The Gun's - have a listen, there's a very familiar riff in there you might have heard in a Quo song...!
