If it sells anywhere near as well as AQ1, the band will be happy.

Merely pointing out that band members come and go but the name remains the same. Yes but you could have at least used a band that at the time of the split had a major fan base. On a different note, band changes are usually only accepted by many fans when they improve for the change. Did Status Quo? Whether I think Status Quo improved or not, having kept going for another 30 years after the change it would seem many thousands of fans did accept it.

Merely pointing out that band members come and go but the name remains the same. Asking a question though, your next post was merely pointing out . What are your views on the said question?

While we talking the Beatles, i have a question. On the departure of Pete Best in 1962 where he was replaced by Ringo Starr, should they have carried on as the Beatles or not? Now that's just silly. doh Merely pointing out that band members come and go but the name remains the same.

when John Lennon was sadly shot dead, apart from the shock/outcry and sadness at the time, it was also mentioned back in 1980 that sadly now the Beatles would never be able to reform and or get back together and play live again. Question; Do fans of Rick less CQ think it's time for the Beatles to play a reunion tour? yes I am playing devil's advocate, but in reality it is the same thing? and that's why I wouldn't go to either. .!! !! This would be me then. I have been to see Quo more times than I care to remember and totally stand by what I posted and if it pains some of the people on here i will try not to lose any sleep over it. And here is my issue. Don't get me wrong, if you and go enjoy it, great. All power to you! But, how in God's name can you call it Status Quo? It's not Status Quo! Freddie Edwards is NOT Status Quo and never will be! Either is the other guy who stood. Leon certainly isn't and doesn't even count himself as part of the band. Rhino, even after all these years, isn't seen as part of it by Rossi or Porter. I'm not for one second questioning their musicianship or your right to enjoy them but, especially without Rick, for you, a fan of Status Quo since the 70's, how much brass is on your neck and how big are testicles that you can come on here and call a line up, without Rick and with Freddie Edwards, Status Quo? I didn't for one minute think that when I bought the tickets that it would be without RP, but what happened, happened. But the fact is Rossi and Parfitt ended up after the court case to keep the name Status Quo, Andy Bown has been there 40 years and Rhino 30. OK they have a new drummer, but they do need one. My favourite Quo period is/was 1973-1984, my favourite gigs the same but nobody can deny that and the guiness book of hit singles will show, that Status Quo continued to enter the charts well after 1985. I wish they hadn't split but they did, but there are a hell a lot of fans still gigging today whether we like it or not.

Why don't you care to remember? I've also seen CQ more times than I care to remember, though I have been to see Status Quo/FF not as many times as I'd like, but care enough never to forget, and will always remember the frantic four/Status Quo. Our opinions differ that's all. I enjoy the band still to this day, other than to say Rick was still fit and playing when I purchased the tickets. But we still went and still enjoyed the gig. However I will not go in winter if RP is not back. You can't see past the recent FF gigs/line up and that's you, but I can and that's me.

Do you enjoy your gigs that taper off in the middle. I appreciate you enjoy what you go and see. Unlike others I don't have an issue with it. It's just not for me. Without Rick the number of classic songs has been reduced to a handful. I wouldn't want to see Status Quo without BFM or 4500x. It's not for me. I will not go to the December gigs unless Rick is back but I had the tickets and I am glad I went. It does taper off a little in the middle, I would drop BOTE and CUOY, but that's just me. I appreciate you don't have an issue with it unlike others, which a fair way to be.

Count yourself as part of the porter fan brigade who accepts all shite the band produces because of people like you...but I agree, you should lose no sleep over it...I don't, even though this annoys the feck out of me. I ain't part of any Porter fan brigade, I bought tickets to see the current Quo and I went to the gig and I enjoyed it. Like I said I have been to gigs galore from 1977-2016, it's what I do.

Share your pain when you read stuff like this and compare what we had in 2013/14 . "What an enjoyable gig, i missed Rick of course but Freddie is the perfect stand in. Great start, tapers off a little and then bang ROLD, DD, WYW and RAOTW, brilliant. Wow, then as the crowd are still buzzing Burning Bridges in the encore, superb live in my opinion. Great night, boy i am going to miss these guys". Different band other than the name. This would be me then. I have been to see Quo more times than I care to remember and totally stand by what I posted and if it pains some of the people on here i will try not to lose any sleep over it.

Like I said we will never agree. Just as a matter of interest who is Status Quo then? Status Quo are Francis, Rick, Alan and John. Why? Not only because they made the sound and made the band what it is but, it's the songs they wrote and crafted that future line ups made their money and fame off. Now, having said all that, I can accept the fact that Rick and Francis are seen and are known as Status Quo. They wrote and contributed as much as Alan and John and are the face of the band. I can also accept Andy being there. Take one of Francis or Rick away and replace them with someone who looks like Harry Kane and it ain't Status Quo. I don't give a toss what anyone says, those gigs should have been cancelled. No promoter is going to over look Rick's past health issues when it comes to insurance for a tour or gig. It's just greed from the band and managment! Pure and simple Case in point. Noel Gallagher may have wrote the songs for Oasis but, live, he wasn't exactly important and certainly nowhere near as important as Rick is for Quo.....When Noel got injured on their last tour, he could have easily been replaced for a few shows. The band done the right thing and cancelled the dates in Canada and America I'm not arguing about the gigs, if possible they should have cancelled. Our opinions differ about who we think Status Quo are. I don't deny that the Pre 1986 line up wrote the classic tracks and I don't deny the current band live off the back of that. But line ups change in many different bands and the name continues regardless.

Is that your rule or a general one? I have been a fan since 1973, seen the band numerous times and have most records, I must be somewhere in the REAL fan category . Despite what you think and say it is Status Quo albeit minus Rick (due to ill health) Fact! It's not Status Quo ffs JC may as well call his band Status Quo then or any of the tributes If you enjoyed it, great. All power to you. Life is too short but don't try insult people's intelligence by saying it's Status Quo. Like I said we will never agree. Just as a matter of interest who is Status Quo then?

The one thing I know is we differ in opinion and always will. Status Quo is now FR, RP (out due to ill health) JE, LC and AB. I know a lot on here won't accept anything other than the FF and that's fine but one thing is for sure I ain't in no Porter gang Don't try justify following this crap by saying Status Quo is FR and RP. This is 100% FR quo and if your happy with that then fine, it's not Status Quo........... Real Quo fans accept no substitutes.!! Is that your rule or a general one? I have been a fan since 1973, seen the band numerous times and have most records, I must be somewhere in the REAL fan category . Despite what you think and say it is Status Quo albeit minus Rick (due to ill health) Fact!

What crap! Andy Bown and Rhino Edwards can't be classed as session players surely? If so it's one hell of a session. We are covering old ground here we both know that and our views differ. Bahahahaha so my view is crap but yours is correct? Typical mindset of the Porter gang The one thing I know is we differ in opinion and always will.
