Again, I'm sitting here, watching the Mighty Quo, having some beers and whiskey, thinking of our dear, late Ricky, and crying. Usually I wear a white shirt for Christmas Eve, but today it had to be a black Rick T-Shirt - and so it will be for the rest of my life. I love him so dearly and miss him so much - have got tears in my eyes again - over and over again. And the line from "A Year" is sooooooo fitting today which is why I have listened to it over and over again today: Lonely sunday morning, rest in peace my love. You've been sleeping so long, a year has gone. Sleep well, my dear Ricky, I absolutely love, adore and miss you. You'll always be my hero. Rest in Peace! <3
PS: I still know exactly where I was when the news broke...just can't write all of it again...

Still gutted, always will be, just done 4500x ('82 NEC - Party dvd), nice but it's only 20odd minutes innit... Luv(d) the bloke, met him twice - ok only at book signings, but I can still treasure those few seconds when I actually spoke to him!!!

And not only will Christmas Eve be Ricky Day from now on, but for me personally all of the Christmas days will be...

Hi All, paradiseflats I think that many remember him simply because it was a tragic coincidence to pass away on Christmas Eve, it's normally for those who celebrate Christmas an enjoyable time usually it became even more poignant when the news broke as many would have been preparing for the next day.
On a personal note to you how are you now ? Still recovering or well on the mend I hope....
Geoff. I hope on the mend. My most recent operation was a success. My scans show no sign of cancer, nor do my cancer markers. There is still a significant chance it will return but life is for living. I have nearly been off work for 600 days. But time to start thinking about returning. Thank you for asking.
