He really did pick his moment....I will forever remember Rick on Christmas Eve. I felt so sick last year, and just had to get on with the family stuff...had a 4 month old boy in the house and couldn't lose it...boy, was it difficult.

Can’t believe it’s been a whole year since he’s gone. Will never forget the moment I found out and where I was and who I was with. I instantly rang my dad to see if he had heard, he had. There was an almost deafening silence on the phone for few seconds as we didn’t really know what else to say as the phone call ended.
Not ashamed to admit that a couple of tears were shed that day. Thankfully your music will always live on and we go into the new year excited to hear what your long awaited solo album will be like. I live in New Zealand now so it is 5pm over here. I will raise a glass at 9pm tonight, just like I did last Xmas eve.
RIP Rick, never forgotten.

I just saw Rick and Frame on MTV...they are doing the best Christmas Anthems and the band aid project went in at #3.
You are sorely missed Rick.

A year ago, where has it gone? I remember the moment well when I heard the tragic news. I received a text and a phone call from two different family members at the same time, strange I thought until I read the text from my son telling me about Ricks passing. I straight away turned on the news it was well covered by all news networks. I could not believe it, my wife was in the house with me and I simply broke down for a minute or two. I could only think of myself and the `hardcore` Quo fans out there who would never see the magnificent Frantic Four ever again, not for his family. Wrongly I know. Miss you still Rick.

Also played the 4500 clip, that is Milton Keynes, there is no better live recording of the opening section of the song, for Rick, than that one, and also Quo could still do harmonies back then. I miss that. I mean, I have been missing that.

Hi All, I love this time of year but it is now forevermore tinged sadness because of Ricks passing So I will choose to celebrate as Rick would have done as he obviously loved this time of year, especially as the reason behind co-writing It's Christmas Time he felt there where no true Christmas songs being written so in that spirit I raise a toast in memory of Rick....

I woke up early on Christmas day here in Oz & put the computer on. Which has the news page on the home page & a pic of Rick & said "Status Quo Guitarist dead". I was in shock, then I went to the Quoboards to have fans overwhelmed with sadness. I put Living On An Island on & read posts on this board, forgetting about Christmas until my family came knocking at my door & asked why I haven't opened my presents yet. Tomorrow morning I will put 'Without You' for a second listen.

Geoff. I guess it shows how different we all are. I won’t be remembering Rick’s death every year. If I hadn’t come on here today, or gone on Facebook I probably wouldn’t have known. I don’t remember the days my parents died. In fact I couldn’t tell you the date of either. I will always cherish my memories of him and his music. I am not saying anyone is wrong for being different, just commenting on it.
