From what I’ve seen on Facebook people that have been to Manchester and Sheffield so far have said he’s not doing much talking to the Audience is this Due to the Fact that He used to do this because of Ricks Health issues and give him time to Recover between songs but then again I’ve been seeing them since 2006 and he’s always liked to talk. 👍🏻

Maybe he's not arsed. Maybe he's doesn't know what to say anymore to a new audience

Or maybe he doesn’t want to look out at all the empty seats.

Ah but you see, there were still some of us of a new generation who were just as hardcore as you'd find anywhere and there were still pockets of the old guard to be found. That's the point, even people like me aren't there anymore. This really is a new audience now. I seem to remember he done a lot less talking at gigs I was at, which weren't a "Quo crowd" if you get me Then again, maybe he does want out of there asap, especially since it ain't Acoustic

People have been asked to buy tickets they have decided no thank you. They play London and struggle to shift 5000 tickets. Over 50% lower than last time or any tour for well who knows when.

Apparently, the circle was empty in Sheffield last night..

Why does he feel the need to gab in the first place?

He used to be a brilliant front man, witty, funny and fast, and I bet he still can do it, I'll never find out. He was having a great time with the Swedish dish "Pytt i panna" the last time I saw him.

In the 70s he was great especially before he became a household name. He connects with his audience. Makes people laugh. However the best... probably not.

What's he got to say? "We're sorry it's not Aquostic but you asked for it" when that's simply not the case?
I think he's embarrassed that he's having to incorporate an apology and a sales pitch into what should be banter because he and Porter thought Aquostic would run and run.

Don't know why this is so funny - re - the thread header. For me its sad. I was always partial to a bit of banter from Francis between songs back in the day.
I think its partly what deepthroat suggests, he doesn't know what to say about all the changes etc... But maybe he is missing Rick. And that is why he's quiet. Or maybe he's concentrating on playing again. I'm not there so I can't tell.

He clearly has talking points. Always does. Then works around them. Its one of his appealing factors. He comes across as a nice bloke on stage with an open chatty style. Has DT seen this tour ? Or is he simply taking what is posted to fit his own agenda. Which is what most people do conscioncely or not.

Maybe those early UK gigs were strange for him and by your gig (and I think Glasgow) he's got into the swing of the UK tour. He was playing DWMT in the encore by then too. And now its over and they're in Germany doing Aquostic. Seems like that could have been the last UK tour. Personally not upset because I don't go any more but also sad, as a fan, that it could have faded out like this. Only time will tell. I doubt DT has seen the tour.
