Look at this little Gem that has turned up on Ebay.com Aaah, one and six! Who'd have thought it! Edit: hang on, is that seven and six? I seem to remember my Dad paying that for a gallon of petrol. Rugby was not far from me but I would have only been 11!

I cant see that one on ebay but if you type status quo posters on ebay and go down to the redbubble site, they have some crackers on there.

Applying comparative typography, I would say that was 7/6, or (ouch, brain pain) 37 and a half pee, as we would say now. Bearing in mind my second Led Zep ticket two years later was 15 bob, ie exactly twice 7/6d, (or 75 pee as we would say now) that seems quite steep for a club gig. But I think the whole economics of gigs was different then, especially the "big shows". There were no huge digital lighting rigs, massive backstage lists of demands, elaborate sets, flyling pianos or Ticketmaster. So it's the price of the Big Gig that was low, not the price of the little gig that was high. Now THAT's nostalgia
