Some guy on FB posted something this morning about there being more of Quo at Minehead than in Australia. A lot of Rossi's supporters went nuts over this and got the hump. Started posting replies saying he was talking rubbish basically and that it's a "new time for Quo" and that "Rossi is the hero and the real Quo"
So, I decided to have a bit of fun... I replied a few times saying fans are sweeping Rick under the carpet, people were clueless believing such statements coming from the current band and I asked for proof over the lies being talked about by these posters in relation to Alan, Rick and John...
I got such insults in reply, I can't even tell you how sad I actually found it. I sarcastically posted "Yes, let's sweep Rick under the carpet. This is a new time for Quo" and got a reply, "Yes! Thank you for your comment and they are the best band in the world" I'm not even making that up. People actually do genuinely think this way... It's very sad imo
For all the shit lumped at this place, this place is fucking heaven compared to other platforms to discuss the band.

Some fans will believe whatever they are spoon-fed and are unwilling to believe what Francis and Simon are really capable of.
It's very sad that all they have in their lives is a band that continue to wangle money out of them.

I'm glad you appreciate this place FW.
I wonder when those fans, who say its a new era of Quo and don't miss Rick, got into the band. I know the sound changed post '86 but without Rick its totally gone.

This year has been hard for me as a fan. Dealing with the loss of Rick, seeing fans at each others throats on Social Media, the band playing on which they have the right to do but with the Minehead event it's becoming a us/vs them situation. You feel that you can't be a fan of the band and enjoy the Minehead event because you can't be both sides of the fence.
I don't follow the band now as much as I did because of various reasons before Rick died. I have not bought the recent live albums due to static setlits and Aquostic while played well is not for me. So they are not getting any money out of me but I feel that if they want to carry on playing live then they have the right.
I can see why some feel they are playing better than ever which I don't agree with but I will say they are playing better than CQ had done with Rick towards the end of his time in the band. Rick for all his abilities was becoming compromised through his health and his singing voice had been going down for a while. Rick was still a master of his craft guitar wise up until 2014 and that 3rd Heart Attack. Looking back at footage from them in 2001-04 they were probably at the top of their game regarding the current band and the new line up does not beat that.

Saw them play some brilliant gigs during that period

Probably a high percentage of folk on here can't really get into current quo since the death of Rick or since experiencing the delights of the FF gigs of 13/14 and the crowd reaction that was involved.
In some respects I envy the folk that are still following the current band to gigs because not seeing Rick holds no charm for me...but they are still able to gain enjoyment so each to their own.
What is for sure is the fact that folk are gaining more enjoyment from Tribute bands playing a varied set.
Those of us that did not make the "Convention" are probably feeling we should have gone having read the buzzed up posts from many on here.
Seeing the tributes and seeing AL,JC, BY and RPJ has it seems given many a slice of the old FF Quo fix that was sadly taken away from us with Rick's death.
Perhaps for many they thought they would not have anything to look forward to but now there is hope that this could perhaps happen again if AL was to come over in the future.
Nice to have something to look forward to is it not ? Or at least dream about happening again.
Peace and love to all.

Fucking hell Someone is calling me an ugly **** now because I said the Bolland Brothers' song kept Quo going and not Rossi, in 1986. Now, whilst I am horrendous to look at, these CQ disciples sure do become petty

And the tickets to see the FF in 2013/14 were cheaper than to see CQ if I remember rightly. Certainly fair prices compared to some bands.

The post was from QuoLlector (Mike), who has recently changed his tune regarding current Quo... at one point he was all for the current lineup and was a Rossi loon to the point where when Rick had to leave the band last year after his heart troubles, he said the crowd have only ever chanted for Rossi and never Rick etc.
As of lately he's done a complete U-turn.
ON topic of the facebook freaks... they are another breed. Strange strange people on Quo facebook pages and groups, and they don't like being proven wrong either or they'll resort to personal comments/attacks.
