Aquostic tour was really because promoters only wanted FF after 13/14.
That failed so they agreed to a tour contract based on the last of the electrics....and intended to rip the hole out of that.
tried the Aquostic crap again hoping that announcing last of the electrics would have led to people having to go as there was no more electrics.
aquostics failed again so the winter tour was the new rockin tour and sure things are so good they should continue..
And now they have come full circle and realised that the demand for quo live ended with FF 2014 as the demand for 2017 is so poor.
so we get please please come and see us in 17 as we won't be here in 18. And Rossi who has stated himself that he won't be acknowledging Rick in live shows, now is going to dedicate 2 songs to Rick, so really this is now the Rick memorial tour.
I genuinely did not think they could sink any lower....but they have.

It's terribly sad.
Once a titan of Rock....Now, well..I come back to what RPJ said. He'd reveal the truth when the time is right. But, we all know the truth...
What you saw in Croke Park back in July, Derry, was a band! 4 people who do it for music and each other. This? I don't know what to call this.

Alan must be ashamed and upset at what Rossi and Porter are doing to the once mighty quo brand and legacy

Quo's constant toing and froing between how they want and what they want to promote would be hilariously funny if it were not for the fact that a man died.
But that does not seem to be a concern for Porter who, when first talking about Rick after his death said, there were some extremely dark periods during his time as Quo's manager BUT "he wouldn't have it any other way". Unbelievable. Yet this was brushed under the carpet by "fans".
Even after Rick left the band, his image was used to sell tickets for gigs that he wouldn't be playing. Francis making derogatory comments about Rick was used to promote LNOTE. Now that they've tried every single way to punt a tour that no-one wants (because the public's preferred option of acoustic was snatched away from them by a moment of gross impatience by a manager) they play on the insecurities of people by promising to play two of Rick's tracks, in lieu of a memorial concert which THEY themselves FAILED to organise.
Porter doesn't have the intelligence to work out that the acoustic tour didn't sell because, not only was it way too long after the original successful album, but he left everything to chance. Jumped into bed with Jeff Smith and the BBC then got kicked out for farting. Gave them a Christmas single that wasn't a Christmas single.
Quo were used, like the many artists before them, e.g. U2, Madness, and were tossed into the gutter. At least the others had "alternatives" to go to. Quo have none. They are a disease.
But let's forget that. Leon, Richie, Andy and Rhino are all likeable. Francis is funny. Simon is a nice man, apparently.

Since a lot of these comments reflect a lot of my own thoughts and feelings about the whole thing I mainly concentrate on Quo only now from 70 to 81 and purely the music. What's left of it all is not even a mere shadow of what it once was. What a sad ending ... I will just listen to the music and remember the good times.

Hi All, It gets worse just checking my emails and in the Team Rock C/O Classic Rock teamrock.com/classic-rock the following article what do you lot make of it ?
Status Quo announce 2018 touring hiatus.
Status Quo announce that they’ll cut back on their live commitments throughout 2018 - no winter tour or Christmas shows next year Status Quo have announced that they'll radically cut back their touring activities throughout 2018. They’ll only play a select series of summer shows and festivals in 2018 – and that means for the first time in around 30 years there will be no traditional winter European tour or Christmas shows in the UK.
In light of the news, the previously announced concert that was scheduled for November 3, 2018, at Zurich’s Hallenstadion has been rescheduled for October 6, 2018, and will be the final Quo gig of the year. Tickets for the original show will be valid for the new date.
Francis Rossi says: "This year has been one of change and reassessment following the sad death of Rick Parfitt. Although Rick had already retired from touring for six months before he died, it was still a major shock and my immediate reaction was to honour existing contracts and then knock it on the head."
"However, since then I have become increasingly confused as I realised just how much I was enjoying touring with two vibrant young guys in the band in guitarist Richie Mallone and drummer Leon Cave.", "They have given us old guys a good kick up the backside and while it could never be the same as with Rick in the band, it is different now but in an exciting and vibrant way that I can’t fully explain." , "The 2017 gigs have been absolutely incredible and spirits are high, but we do now need some thinking time to consider all of the options now on offer for 2019, which could well include the recording a new full on Quo rock album!"
Rossi adds: "We would love as many fans as possible to come and really help us make some noise on this year’s dates as we definitely won’t be touring in 2018. This is a massive change for us, and I know that the Quo tour has become a traditional part of the festive season for many fans."
The upcoming Australian dates and the Plugged In: Live And Rockin’! UK tour will be the only opportunity for fans to see the band in smaller and more intimate venues for at least two years. As a tribute to Parfitt, the band will include two of his best-loved songs, Don’t Drive My Car and Little Lady in their live set lists going forward.
Three fans comments:-
Master Bates 1 day ago One of my all time favorite bands, but as sad as it is to say, its a bit like AC/DC. You can't help but feel that it should end now. matt
matt thomas 1 day ago The current tour is NOT selling well -(I looked at Glasgow's show onn Ticketmaster) I can't help but wonder if this announcement is supposed to stimulate sales! AFTER Last of the ELECTRICS turned out to be nothing of the sort, I suspect a few people feel a bit miffed by another! I saw that tour, and an acoustic date this year ...... For me, its 'Enough already' - the conservative set lists change too little, and there are so many other bands to see before they retire (I already missed out on Tom Petty). Reply to above comment by matt thomas James White 17 hours ago Totally agree. Do we have to hear 'The Oriental' again! Think Rossi, Lancaster, Coglan, Bown with Richie Malone standing in for Parfitt would make a better line up.
Questions:- Could the promise of a possible new Rock Album be an attempt to claw back some fans and placate those who have aired their views since his decision to carry on with the Status Quo name ? Could it be a knee jerk reaction to many fans staying away from gigs and that is the reality behind the above article as whole ?
IMPO it seems that Mr Rossi knows he has messed up big time and never really saw it coming or at least not appreciating how big of an attraction Rick was to many of the fans in the CQ format.
Geoff.

It's all gone horribly wrong for me with Quo since the FF Tours of 2013/14...Rick's untimely passing and Francis' slagging off of all things and personnel of the past and worst of all the FF Reunions, has completely changed my view of Quo now. They'll always been (and will be) my no.1 Band but as stated seemingly everywhere on the 'net, it's now 'gone'...Never thought I'd miss a Quo Tour, but after watching Quo Mk6 last year it's reached a natural conclusion, it was stale and boring...off to see JC's Quo next month, instead of the same old set with FR's Quo in December (Yawn) With regards to the 'LNOTE' CD I haven't bothered with it, but pre ordered the Live at the NEC one straight away...am I the only one who thinks the continual press/social media releases from Francis and Simon Porter are really desperate these days? Sad Times...stick with those Golden Memories from the No.1 Rock and Roll Band in the land
