What's wrong with talking to your fellow band members on stage?....feck all. Everybody does it. I certainly do. Sometimes it's a laugh, sometimes it's serious, but it doesn't change anybody's enjoyment of the gig. If it did, I'm sure somebody would tell me after it's finished. So far, nobody has. Jumping about playing games with each other, however, is a different thing altogether. That's not the point!
In all the interviews, press releases etc you've seen from bands you like, have any of them, or any member, said "Oh we take the piss out of each other?"
It's just a ridiculous thing to say and it's an even more ridiculous thing to publish as far as I'm concerned

Well, well well! In all my years I have never judged someone's character by their clothes. Ever heard the phrase "Fur coat and no knickers"? Uh-huh. Anyone dressed as a Morris dancer is a tosspot.

I don't see anything crass or snide Leon or Simon's words are probably true. I'm sure they do enjoy being on stage and enjoy lots of smiles. I don't see the need for the release though, it is a bit odd....it's not like "those smiles are fake" is a burning fan-issue! I think it's crass. It's not a performance, we go on there and take the piss out of each other? If that's the case, I'll go buy a ticket for a stand up comedian. Which I would in any case given the choice I've just googled crass! I thought it meant insensitive (lots of interviews etc have been recently, but not this imo). It does mean that, but I've learned it also means stupid. I agree it's a bit of a stupid release It IS a performance! Francis seemed to turn "not taking himself too seriously" way, way too far...something that is easier to understand now that we know he isn't into the music we love anymore

I think we're all in agreement: the band are playing the greatest hits setlist, and they're enjoying each other's company. It's interesting how the Quo Social Media has changed recently. It feels like someone has been employed by Quo to get more involved on Facebook to work out feedback from fans. So releasing a statement like this feels like it's in response to perhaps a majority held view point that they're just going through the motions and doing a performance. But they want to let us know that they're having a really fun time on stage. The advert for LNOTE DVD seemed to suggest a similar thing: look at all the fun we're having, smiling at each other and laughing at stuff. It's tempting to say that they feel the vibe in the band is different now because Rick isn't in it. They're not actually saying that, but Francis is always quick point out that Richie has introduced some youthful vigour etc. Good post mate. Not sure it's a greatest hits set. Half of it (the middle bit) is filler. If they played 75% of 12GB vol 1 & 2 and threw in army and bridges, that would be a greatest hits set. It would also be far more popular with the "mr and mrs smith" audience than the current set
