I don't see anything crass or snide Leon or Simon's words are probably true. I'm sure they do enjoy being on stage and enjoy lots of smiles. I don't see the need for the release though, it is a bit odd....it's not like "those smiles are fake" is a burning fan-issue! fake news..

Don't know Richie, not seen him or talked to him yet, but Leon is very likable. Why? Because he talks to people who are nice to him? Well, well well! In all my years I have never judged someone's character by their clothes. Ever heard the phrase "Fur coat and no knickers"?

Well, well well! In all my years I have never judged someone's character by their clothes. Ever heard the phrase "Fur coat and no knickers"? Love how you completely ignored the part about Malone and didn't even quote me correctly. Snakelady has thought you well Reading this I'm confused by your response FW. I thought granny was quoting deepthroat and his views on Leon. I don't think she's quoted you.

I read it wrong. No excuse. Apologies to Granny.
My point still stands though. It was snide as fuck

No worries freewilly. btw - I agree with you about watching a band taking the mickey of each other on stage rather than playing the music. Sounds like a way to cover up boredom to me.

I think we're all in agreement: the band are playing the greatest hits setlist, and they're enjoying each other's company. It's interesting how the Quo Social Media has changed recently. It feels like someone has been employed by Quo to get more involved on Facebook to work out feedback from fans.
So releasing a statement like this feels like it's in response to perhaps a majority held view point that they're just going through the motions and doing a performance. But they want to let us know that they're having a really fun time on stage.
The advert for LNOTE DVD seemed to suggest a similar thing: look at all the fun we're having, smiling at each other and laughing at stuff.
It's tempting to say that they feel the vibe in the band is different now because Rick isn't in it. They're not actually saying that, but Francis is always quick point out that Richie has introduced some youthful vigour etc.

I smiled when I read, " But they want to let us know that they're having a really fun time on stage" because surely its us that are mean't to be having fun watching them. Your interpretation makes total sense though.

Reluctantly CG I have to agree. There's always been a bit of stuff like Francis and Rick having pretend conversations during the quiet bits, but generally not actually arsing about. (That is the fans' job.) As for the thread, I don't get what the fuss is about.

As an older fan, I always enjoyed those pretend conversations which were a sign of their enjoyment rather than mickey taking. My understanding of the fuss is why does the Management think it necessary to release this point to the fans. And by doing so, it continues to undermine their credibility as musicians. But we do all see things differently. So maybe this will be good for other fans.

I saw that one, I didn't think it was snide, I just thought it was silly beyond the need of silliness. But the whole Rossi-Parfitt joke thing was something "you had to be there" to appreciate (or not) - it doesn't translate well to other bandmembers, and I never saw those two waving their feet about. I rather fear Ritchie and Leon have to "fit in". PS sorry about the panel here, I couldn't get it to let me write on my own bit. (Experimenting with layout here.) (It won't let me write underneath. Don't know Richie, not seen him or talked to him yet, but Leon is very likable. No, Deepthroat does not contribute snide so, that's quite harsh to say so. Although, it's very common with what I see the current Quo fan post on Facebook. As for Malone, in an interview for Oz TV, he said he had big shoes to fill when "replacing" Rick. He then held his foot up to camera, as Francis pointed at his shoe and they both laughed.

Well, I'll put it this way.
If I found it disrespectful and snide, how would Rick's family and friends see it? How would Alan or John look upon it?
You might not see it as snide, fair enough.

I just see it as another advert I'm afraid Musical credibility ... just read a biog (no names no pack drill) where someone compares their artists's "musical credibility" with that of another well known band pretty much in the same niche and I can only think, duh, does that person even read the news reports ... But having revealed to myself in a moment of tying that Leon and Richie (and anyone else coming into the band) pretty well have to toe the line .... I have to agree that that looks like the line. Tickling sticks next?

No, because my heart is not broken in quite the way theirs is ... I just see it as silly, which is the sign of a heart which is sad. I also have a feeling that the hearts of Rick's family and friends are going through a variety of emotions, most of which don't involve foot-waving. But in the end it was only a comment that Rick is large shoes to fill. It's a well known and respectful saying, it doesn't need a comedy routine to act it out, so ... yeah. I don't get snide, though. It seems to me that it was meant as said, and I think most fans will take it so. (Just my view of course.)

Well, well well! In all my years I have never judged someone's character by their clothes. Ever heard the phrase "Fur coat and no knickers"? The quote from deepthroat that my comment referred to seems to have disappeared it was - He thinks he's hip but every time you see him, he's wearing either a plain white or plain black shirt.
