Quote from the interview.
Tony said it wasn't hard to convince his musical partner Mick Foster, as he is a massive Status Quo fan, and they'd heard the acoustic versions of Status Quo songs.

Said at the time that 95% of the Acoustic albums was basically Irish country cheese.
Now you know what I mean

Love it DQ. Here's the full track. Its good. I really enjoyed that! Got me jigging round the studio, mind you BB always does that, very clever of Andy to "borrow" that jig to create such a catchy melody.

Aquostic is a one-size-fits-all-strumathon approach to Quo songs, as means to yet another form of cheeky chappy self parody. There is no intent at creating proper country music, whether that be Irish or any other type - merely using a faux knees-up style of it as another means for show business entertainment. They could just as easily have performing sea lions or a circus act - it would add up to the same
They don't just parody themselves though - they parody the genre(s) they are imitating. Francis is an entertainer first and foremost, and music is just the means for his stage act. Though he is capable of far more, he has no desires to be a serious creative musician, or to lead a serious creative band. Its all about a good laugh - however cheesy it maybe.

Some weeks back I made a decision. I would ignore the "look how crap they are now" threads and clips. I would ignore the bashing of anything recorded or performed after 1345. I would retreat back into the glory days, listen loads and loud to the best stuff, post about it - and that's it. I would ignore everything that had become crap, and I would banish the cringing stuff from my mind.
Until now.
AAAARGHHHHHH!!!!
