All francis is missing is a combine harvester a pint of cider and some haybales on set and he can live out his whole country & western desires and hire the wurzels as his backing band.
But the video which was posted in another thread at Glastonbury this whole acoustic phase is going to fizzle out soon Simple Minds are doing it right and the concert what was broadcast on the BBC earlier in the year was good. by them One of the songs from the performance i find is better the the original version while "Karaoke Acoustic Quo" to me none of the songs sound good acoustic more comedy value and is sad example of a once good rock band.
I find this a tight performance overall

He and his bandmates seem to think it is wonderful. Why? doh Because the Quo fans lap it up regardless without the band having to put in any effort. It's like a local pub band or amateur football team - it's alright that they're shite because "they're ours". And no member of Quo is in a position now to have a better career. This is as good as it gets.

And the crowd go wild ..... NOT
So sad that they now play to bums on seats - literally.
The music is insipid and uninspiring. Strum a long a Quo - except that it is not Quo is it!
Thank god Rick, John and Alan are not involved regardless. It would be hard to take if it was Status Quo but laughable now that it is just Francis and his country western mates.

Myself and one of our Aussie Quo mates posted on the Status Quo fans site last night. It started off with our Aussie mate asking why they need so many strumming guitars and the discussion opened up from there. I stated that in my view the whole thing had shown itself to be a bland uninspired strum along, with excessive numbers of musicians/everyone playing roughly the same thing/singing in unison, lacking any real sense of rootsy/bluesy feel, space or mood ( that maybe the 5 of them could have achieved with a bit of imagination and effort at decent arrangements )– a fairground organ churning out a sound and not much more. Amongst the desperate defence of Aquostic, after being called a “hater” and the obligatory “if you don’t like it pick another band” etc, some of the reasoning in defence of the mighty Francis, Andy, Rhino and friends went along the lines of:- “they need so many acoustic guitars because in the acoustics of a theatre it would sound thin with just two…” “Aquostic really shows off the talent of Francis and the other musicians” I posted a few videos of acoustic feels done with some originality/feel - Prince/Cream, Fleetwood Mac/Big Love, Bon Jovi/Living on a prayer – and got these types of responses:- “but those songs are written for acoustic “ which they were not – they were all electric/band songs stripped back properly “Quo’s music is boogie style. It doesn’t easily translate to acoustic feel ( .......but Aquostic is just brilliant! )” This morning the whole thread was.....gone! ( our Aussie Quo mate didn't delete his thread ) Mikey – I think we’ve found your “defenders of everything” all in one place!!

Yes, obviously its their choice and not to lose sleep over. But that goes without saying really.
However, in commentary observational terms, its still bewildering to see and wonder what the attraction is.
Money New car, caviar, four star daydream ...etc etc... Yes I know
There isn't anything wrong actually being in it for money...except it should be driven by motivation to be creative rather than earning a fast buck through slapstick.
Francis does lots of interviews talking about "product" like he is some wise old owl oozing street-cred - but that product is much more "okey cokey" than okey-dokey..

When you call fans 'customers' and albums 'product', you get CQ. They have sucked all the passion out of the band (or 'brand' if you will.) No wonder they are generally not liked on this board as most of us are still passionate about music.
