He finally did it. I thought it was nice hearing him mention Rick and saying it was Ricks favourite song and he wrote whilst he was here. All I ever wanted and expected. Brought a little tear to my eyes. Nice one, Francis.

"It rocks." Laughable for so many reasons. Backing singers can't sing for toffee, but we all know why they're there... Rhino has found himself a new charity shop by the looks of it. Rick gets a passing mention, which is shocking, but Andy proceeds to belittle his memory by acting the big man singing DDMC. Rhino (or should that be Chino?) mucks up RFL by forgetting the words which he thinks is hilarious?!! Francis had laryngitis? Yeah, right...

I had a covers gig last night and couldn't really sing properly because I had a strep throat the previous week.

Other than the excellent Lyin Eyes couldn't put aside 50 mins to sit through that lot If Francis wants to play acoustic country music that's fine by me - but he cannot do it with the members/musicians he has.
He needs to ditch 'Status Quo' and find a specialist to show him how to do it properly.
It won't happen of course

I dont know who was there on stage there in Barcelona but it was not my favourite boogie-rock-band of all time. Maybe it was a wedding band from torquay or some german beer tent musicians on holiday in spain but for sure not Status Quo The Greatest Rock´n`Roll Band In The Land. The mention of rick after a half year was not really something special he told the crowd that rick had written the song but not really more . He could also have read the phone book of woking.

Welcome to the forum. I think I recognise your board name from the old boards?

I remember my mum and dad having a country folk band at one of their parties at a local pub when I was about 14, I hated every feckin minute of it and the thought of it still makes me cringe over 36 years later, this shite reminds me of that , so, so sad.

I'd rather that Quo were down and out's,reduced to busking in underground stations than see them like this. They'd have a bit more dignity if they were. That appearance on the Richard Digence show playing Address Book now looks like The Sex Pistols on The Bill Grundy show compared to this. It looks as if Quo have finally achieved their suicide mission to write themselves out of rock history.

The thing I personally don't understand is why people pay huge amount of money to see/hear this.....??
It's a (rather) free world out there so they can do what they want with their money...It's not that....It's the 'why' I don't get...
Cos seriously no one can say it's any good?

I can understand some fans might want to see it once but for me the idea has run it's course. It certainly has gone downhill. The Roundhouse gig was gold, the first Albert Hall gig was just about a bearable bronze and now it is a very tarnished rusty old can......

I like country/ country rock music. Anything as diverse within the genre from The Eagles to Alison Krauss or Sheryl Crow to the Allman Brothers and Lynryrd Skynyrd for example. Granted they are all Americans of course and it comes naturally to them.
The FF aside with the likes of Claudie, Fine Fine Fine, Break The Rules, Lonely Night and Dirty Water - which all worked as part of the credible rock music that they played, it seems the older that Francis has got, and the more he has tried to eumulate country music and include it as part of Quo's country/pop repertoire - the more tacky, amateur, Eurovision song contest-esque and corny it has become.
The culmination of tackiness is this retirement fund Aquostic apparition
He and his bandmates seem to think it is wonderful. Why? doh

I don't give a toss what Francis Rossi's hired help band get up to now. I agree with Viv's thoughts regarding Aquostic at the Roundhouse & Royal Albert Hall, in my opinion I enjoyed them both, but no more. As I said before, I getting my Quo live fix now from the excellent John Coghlans Quo and I'm looking forward to next Saturday in Woking.

But that goes without saying really.
However, in commentary observational terms, its still bewildering to see and wonder what the attraction is.
