If Freddie was free to take over from Francis, then who also would be the front man who speaks to the fans? That is an equally important role he plays. No disrespect to Rick's contribution - it was massive - but he didn't do that. I guess Rhino could because he has his own band. But is that what fans would want? Of course fans want that...the same ones that wanted rhino to replace Alan and richie to replace Rick.....those deducted hard core, always follow quo no mater what stupid fecking fans , sorry, I know you're being sarcastic.. but if I take your words literally, this is also v funny. My serious point, and I suspect you don't agree which is fine, and that is even the fans who go when whoever is playing might notice the lack of a front man like Francis. I agree, musically, they probably couldn't tell the difference in the way you or I could.

Freddie is not allowed to play with them anymore because of his record contract. Plus the band are insured against colds and stuff. Rick was only not covered for Heart problems, other times when he had a cold they cancelled and they had cover.

Well, I'm sad for him. Maybe is grief will catch up with him and he'll be forced to stop on health grounds. It can happen. I hope he takes a proper break.u By proper you mean permanent? ? No, I mean take 2 weeks or 3 weeks off to get over his laryngitis. If he chooses keep earning a living this way, that's up to him. As I stopped following Quo in 84 and only saw them again in 2013/14, I don't feel I have the right to insist he stops touring. I'm made my feelings clear by not going to gigs.

Actually in that sense they are wasting the potential and ability of both Freddie and Ritchie to produce something possibly innovative. Francis talks about feeling newly inspired in recent months - rather than insult Ricks name through endless karaoke of the product he was a part of, why not confront the real meaning of inspiration/ Get motivated by doing something new. If he is as bored as he appears to be with the same old, why does he say its like fresh air in this new era? Yet another contradiction. I think he makes it up as he goes along
I think this could be really interesting, if these youngsters have the songs/music to share. Having said that, I've just watched the clip of fans talking about why they chose Aquostic at Glasto over Radiohead, and it seems it is for their hits that the people wanted to watch them. Hence the repetitive set list. Sigh.

Hence the repetitive set list. Sigh. It doesn't surprise me they said that. Its all that the band/management need to hear and confirms the chances of anything unexpected and innovational are close to zero (as we already know anyway). It also is solid evidence that 'hardcore' fanbase has no importance to them. Most of us have served our long lost purpose - the reunions were simply the final hurrah.
If they can please the casuals/jo public/'customers' (lol!) pumping out karaoke then that is all that matters to them. Another reason they can distance themselves easily to any emotional attachment to the legacy of Rick and just move on.
Its business as usual - much as Mrs Mayhem and her Tories

I can't help giggling at the thought that I was once a 'customer' at FF Hammy gigs. How politely refrained

Simon Porter is pleased to announce that Quo's gig in Norwich is no longer cancelled as he has managed to find stand ins not only for Francis but also the rest of the band but obviously this is still Status Quo...
When they finish their engagement for Simon Porter they can soon be seen appearing with the bewigged wonder himself Ritchie Blackmore as Rainbow

Shame he can't be replaced (apparently), like Rick was... Get Freddie in and let Andy and Rhino sing his songs... It's still 'Quo' isn't it "A new face might freshen it up a bit"...said veteran member Ritchie Malone

Knew it would happen.
Far too many songs and Francis has to strain himself in order to be heard over the racket. Not that he can sing nowadays anyway.
Bland and boring additions. Typical "what have Mr and Mrs Smith heard on Radio 2?" thinking.
Where's ITAN?
