Nice set of photos from the first night of the new Aquostic tour, from Inverness: invernessgigs.co.uk/2017/06/21/status-quo-inverness-review/I didn't realise they were adding (yet) another guitar, this time in the shape of Ralf Oehmichen (from "Who's That Girl" who have been a common choice of support for Quo in Germany).

Who's that girl? The acoustic duo who supported quo on the riffs tour in the UK and I think Germany?

And to think in 1977 after listening to the RAOTW album I thought "This is a low point". They could at least stop wearing those fcuking white socks and a pair of converses each wouldn't hurt. The greatest rock band I ever saw on stage are now represented by wankers.Anyone else feel conned?

I just don’t get the aquostic thing at all……
FOUR acoustic guitars in generally hurried, bland, clockwork toy monkey “strum-along” arrangements of virtually everything…..FOUR…..all playing virtually the same thing......why do they need FOUR?!?!!...+ the f*ckin accordion!!
If they had to insist on doing this type of thing…
Just the 5 of them?
Frame, Rick(RIP)/Richie on acoustic guitars, Andy on acoustic piano, Rhino on electro-acoustic bass or stand-up double bass, Leon on a cut down kit with light sticks or brushes and/or congas/percussion
Wear dungarees and pork pie hats, sit on straw bales or in rocking chairs on a porch if you want!!
…but for the love of god, slow down a bit and give it some FEEL…..!!

They're probably so used to being loud that they're subconsciously making up for it by adding more.
I guess 4 insipid sounding acoustics will sound slightly fuller than 2 insipid sounding acoustics.

I've said before Kiwi they are going to end up like one of those dreadful C&W family bands with 'Ol Francis,Uncle Andy,Big John and some young whippersnappers. "A little thing again from the Hi Yall album,I said Hi Yall 'cause I wanna thang ya all for comin', a little thing called Roll Them Greenbacks Over and Lay Them Suckers Down" Cringing yet Kiwi?

Whether one likes it or not is by the by, but proper C&W has authenticity played as it should be.
But the strum, strum, strum approach using Quo songs as the template for 'country' is nothing authentic whatsoever. Its parody. But then parody has been the theme for quite a long time now. Whether that be by the all smiles entertainment of 'electrics' or the strum along Aquostic.
Back in the FF days the country element to songs like Claudie and Fine Fine Fine was done cleverly and creatively and didn't sound hackneyed and parodied
But wind some way forward - somehow, led by Francis, this outfit has managed to make a brand out of it, believing it to be somehow authentic, when in fact it is corny imitation.
If you are going to be 'inspired' by a genre of music - do it properly!
