(...) There's a reason why Rhino sings - to give Francis a rest. Going on the Hyde Park gig, Francis will sound like he's on his deathbed when he hits the hour mark. Perhaps controversial but what about Andy singing a few numbers? I'm sure there are reasons for war, earthquakes and all sorts of misery, but I blame God.

Although I have NO interest in this Quo format, I wish Rossi and his session musicians all the best!

Other artists who are older manage to sing full hour and a half sets or longer with just a lead singer so there is no reason why Francis can't. The length of the set isn't the sole factor. The electric gigs protect Francis somewhat because the loudness and energy distract from his vocals, IMO. With acoustic, he is more exposed, and vocal f**k ups are more noticeable. You could probably rattle off the names of dozens of folk who are older and last hour plus sets but I wouldn't think many have toured to the same extent that Quo have over the last 15/20 years which have put a toll on Francis' voice. Not that I think he was a particularly great singer in the first place, but still... There's a reason why Rhino sings - to give Francis a rest. Going on the Hyde Park gig, Francis will sound like he's on his deathbed when he hits the hour mark. Perhaps controversial but what about Andy singing a few numbers? I always thought Francis was a great singer.

Saw Aquostic in Pompey in 2015, enjoyed it...as a 'one off' not doing the December Tour this year (called it a day 'live' after Bournemouth 2016) but have penciled in the BBC coverage ( I assume it will be on there)for Glasto, hopefully it will be 'OK' for all concerned
