What other famous guitarists are there that play rhythm almost exclusively like Rick did?
I know he did a few solos but mainly its the power chords.
James Hetfield could be one but he does do some solos too.
Finally, on the 1982 album there's one song with a slide guitar bit. I always thought it was Rick. Anyone know?

Izzy Stradlin and Malcolm Young are the two that come to mind. Very good players. Bruce Welch too

Rudolph Schenker is another guy who pretty much exclusively plays rhythm, everyone thinks what these guys do is easy cos it's essentially playing chords and by nature they are the stepping stones when learning guitar, however to do it well is a real art and few have mastered it!

Noddy Holder, but his rhythm guitar playing was overlooked because of his singing.
