I hope this puts the matter to rest re Rick's Memorial Event. A statement from Simon Porter: 'All that I can tell you, Yvonne, is that Status Quo will categorically not be appearing at Hammersmith on July 21st. It is something that has never been discussed or requested and I find it sickening that anyone - be it an individual or organisation – would dream of posting such an event. Once again, I have to stress that nothing regarding Status Quo can ever be regarded as official until it is posted on official Status Quo sites. If I discover where this notice originated, they will be served with a cease and desist notice and leave themselves open to legal action. Happy for you to post the above!' Nevermind... Davy beat me to it

Davy beat me to it I agree with SP for once, status quo could not possibly be playing on 21st July, or at any time in the future for that matter

Of course they're not, how bloody ridiculous...
I believe they'll be celebrating the 12th anniversary of their appearance in Coronation Street with a special "Unplugged Aquostic 'The Street' Special".
This fun day will comprise of a "It's a KnoQuot" celebrity games including present (members of Quo (and management) teaming up against the cast of Coronation Street in games of epic proportion. Games include the great downhill "Cheese roll", "Stage Fright" - a large rotating stage where teams attempt to knock off their opponents with hose pipes and large inflatable guitars and the unforgettable "Front Row Dash", where individuals in ill fitting denim and lycra attempt to make it to the barrier of a stage without being taken down by the giant "Front Row Hags" who will be guarding their rightful position at the front.
The winners will be awarded the "Golden Stan". A three foot gold painted plastic statue of the late great Stan Ogden in his infamous "Rock Pose" of him holding a replica 1957 Fender Telecaster.
The evening will finish with an all-comers concert where current members of Quo will perform all their amazing Aquostic hits and be helped out on vocals by past & present members of "The Street". Stars such as Julie Goodyear, Michael Le Vell, William Roach, Simon Gregson and of course Quo's most famous fan of all time, Bruce "Les Jones" Battersby.
Tickets will be available (possibly) at all branches of Primark and Poundstretcher. All "profits" will be given to the ex-Radio 1&2 presenters hardship fund.
