Hopefully Quo/Porter are in no way involved in promoting the album.

Hopefully Quo/Porter are in no way involved in promoting the album. Rhino and Porter are. To quote the title of a Rhino song, that's bad news. This will be same wishy-washy promotion as we get now. No subtlety whatsoever. Full of cut and pastes from previous promo statements. "Quo are proud to announce" etc and clichés used in other "dead star" marketing, i.e. "it's what he would have wanted". Presumably this will be given low-key promotion on Quo's social media platforms (much like the FF) so as not to take anything away from CQ?

Anyone know what the intention is regarding the PLC tracks that were recorded?
I know that Spud said at his JCQ gig at Putney a few months back that they would be released - could they be tagged onto Rick's album? It seems to have gone a bit quiet on that front 😳

You must of missed it Gaz . Any link mate? Not yet, out in October apparently. One of the songs, was read out at his funeral. FTMO magazine said there's a few rockin tunes on it.

Am I the only one who doesn't think itll be up to much. And not really bothered if it's released, although I do support his son finishing his dads work. Possibly not. I wasn't greatly taken by the previous one, once it caught up with me (and nor were the record companies back in the 80s, as he never got it published). But I'm not a great judge of Rick's material, other than the A1 top stuff he got out with Quo. I shall wait for bits to creep up on me (see what I did there?) on YouTube or whatever, and see what I feel. I went off rugby-tackling heros' latest solo stuff/posthumous etc after i did that once and hated it. And when that happens, i never buy that artist again. (I don't hate hate hate them, I am still a great admirer of Neil Young, but i will never buy an NY album again - there's only so much nasal wailing even I can take ... ) Making a great album is so much more than having a couple of great tunes on it (though that helps a lot). So I shall lurk. I want the core Rickfans to be happy with it, I want RJP to be happy with it, and Rick's other kids, and I am really glad that there is a release date and it won't just sit in someone's "To Do" locker for years like some posthumous stuff does. I know everyone's going to do the best job they can. PS I don't really want the proto PLC stuff to be on it, I would rather see that as an EP. It's a different project - and I love EPs. So that would work for me. I would risk a rugby tackle on that.

I've loved a lot of his later songs, so I'll definitely buy it.

Hopefully a fitting tribute to Rick. really looking forward to it, any releases will be treasured in this Household...the only trouble is, we still probably yearn to Frantic Four 72-76 quality...we should be grateful for what we get I suppose...as well as any PLC tracks

So when is the "best" Rock Album ever coming out then?

So when is the "best" Rock Album ever coming out then? Well, Back In Black came out in 1980 and Appetite For Destruction came out in 1987. As for your snide dig at Rick, I'd be appalled but, it's just a natural trait fans of the current line up tend to project these days so, work away.
