Errr is it actually a 10 minute version or the same song played twice?
Either way, IMO it's shite.

It's a fantastic track,
Proof once again quo were never a "one trick pony"
I've always liked it.

Hi All, It's just down to personal choice at the end of the day! I prefer the FF era no matter what album but can listen to all Quo's output most good a lot not so since FF but that is just the way it goes. Personally I just take it or leave whatever track I am not to critical, we as fans just tend to have differing opinions that all.
After all it's the main reason why this and other forums exist because of the band who gave us the memories of the music plus some actually play along with but most listen to, wouldn't be a boring world if everybody liked the same stuff ?
Geoff.

Mountain Lady is a great track, and I will FIGHT anyone who says otherwise. Yes! We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.

Haven't listened to that in years. And weirdly enough, I think it would fit well on albums like Heavy Traffic or ISOTFC. And yet it was written by Alan. I don't mind it but you can hear how they've moved away from the golden era.

Have to admit, I do like Mountain Lady...and a lot of other stuff on JS and NTL, which might have been the direction they had gone in had the FF not split. Riverside and Over the Edge are the pick of the bunch I reckon. And as Quo albums go they trounce RAOTW and IYCSTH

I also like the track mountain lady as well, along with take me away, dont stop me now, long ago and enough is enough from the same album. I like the singing and the lyrics to riverside but the production of it kinda hurts my ears a bit, sort of tinny, which is strange cos the rest of the tracks on the album seem to have the same sort of tinny sound but don't hurt my ears....i even like that keyboard bit in the middle of enough is enough that goes on a bit too long, god knows why i like it, just do haha

Mountain Lady is a brilliant track with a truly beautiful melody. Production could have been better but that's as far as the criticism goes. Love it!

Never got ML. Had to switch off the remaster, it sounds far more keyboard laden that I remember. Didn't like it, thought it was boring tbh
Love the NTL album though, and yes Davey, I was a kid when I bought it!

In the context of post Live! releases, I really like Just Supposin' but Never Too Late sounds to me like the left-overs it apparently was. I struggle to decide between Never Too Late & If You can't Stand The Heat for the worst album '77-'81. It's a great shame they didn't take a year or two out, if only from recording. D'you reckon you can make a ten track album from JS to BTB tracks Dennis? I'll allow your choices to be produced the old fashioned way...can't be any fairer. I'm not sure I can. My initial reaction would be to just replace Rock N Roll with Carol. My problem with Never Too Late is that all the original tracks sound to me like they're somewhat underdeveloped in terms of either the song or the arrangement, or both. It's as if they finished off the tracks for Just Supposin' & then couldn't really be bothered to do the same with the left over tracks. Too much Andy, too much Francis singing, not enough Francis playing guitar, imo.
