Hi all, I know that Rick would have been very much in all of our thoughts today and lots of people will be remembering and honouring him in their own special way.
I would like to share with you my little bit of Rick time. As part of my job and also by strange coincidence I found myself in Milton Keynes today. I decided to take a detour and take my break at Milton Keynes Bowl. I parked in a layby on the road outside and had a wander around the perimeter. I wasn't at Quo's MK gig but I've watched it endless times. As I wandered around the bowl today I let my mind wander, imagining the gig that day. The thousands of fans, the atmosphere, the trucks, the buses, Quo's helicopter. Then once on stage, I imagined Rick blasting out Caroline, the volume, the crowd, the band. I know and understand why the Milton Keynes gig was tainted with sadness for lots of fans and I know that Rick didn't particularly enjoy that gig so it might seem strange how I ended up here, just me and my thoughts, but it was my little connection to Rick today as his funeral took place in London. After driving away I did a u turn at the roundabout and as I came back towards the Bowls entrance gate I thought " It really is the end of the road" and with that I give a big blast on my air horn as my mark of respect.
RIP Rick, Thanks for the fun, Love you. X
