I've seen so many mistakes. It seems some of them just read what others have written and plagiarise them...so they copy the mistakes!
All they need to do is get a Quo fan to proof read it and it'd be guaranteed!

Rick is mentioned at the bottom of that in the others section. However as it's an American site I would not expect him to be any higher.

Don't forget the 50 number one singles! It's also been a fine chance for even the BBC to mis-spell Marietta's name. They used to pride themselves on getting people's names right, they are rubbish now.
BTW I've already overheard someone telling someone else that Francis Rossi had died. (Not the media. So far they've managed to get the right member.)
(There are 1001 obvious responses to that, none of which I made or referred to.)

Hi All, What else can we expect from a MSM that has no interest in publishing articles or story's that will not get themselves noted, rather publishing the subject of such articles or story's that do ? It appears more meat in pop stars than rock stars unfortunately... This is no aspersion on George Michael RIP...
Geoff.

This is the gist of it, spot on Geoff. The person who got more of the media attention in life will always get the bigger send off. I guarantee that if Kanye, Bieber, Boy George, Simon Bon Bon or a Kardashian go in the next decade that they will get far more media space than people like Malcolm Young, Suzi Quatro, Noddy Holder, Robert Plant...maybe even Keef. I remember how low key George Harrison's passing seemed to be. Looking at the 2016 list there are some superb musicians who have left without barely a murmur. It really only matters to their fans.

Might as well do my own mistake littered piece Rich Parfitt joined Status Quo after meeting the band at Pontins in 1964 while working for Mr Whippy ice cream, owned by Adam Manchesters mum,Parfitt was one of five children born to farming folk in Kent.He learned to play the banjo after learning from his dad who was keen for Rich to join the entertainment business. He wrote Pictures of Matchstick Men with band member Francis Rossi, known as TBISQWTLH or The Bloke In Status Quo With The Long Hair.Rich had 5 children by 3 wives but he was never married. He was known for his soaring solos on his red beachcaster guitar and his song writing, especially Rockin Around The Earth,What You Like,Rollin'Over and Home,Army Dreamers,Cocktail Evening and many more.He recorded a solo album titled First Class Post.Sadly Rich and his addiction to everything that was fun left him in bad health that led to an operation on the Sidcup by pass.Hme played on the bands great albums including,Nasty Old Woman In Cafe,Dog of Four Legs,Anglegrinder,Wotcha,,Accurate Plumbline and the classic Nice Colour. He will be missed by a legion of fans otherwise known as the Denim Clad Cadre.

Yes, I know there's much more important things to get annoyed about, but the lack of media mourning for Rick has annoyed me. Our media really is very poor. We should have cultural correspondents who can explain the importance of different artists etc to the public. We should have industrial correspondents for strikes etc. We have journalists to report the news, covering topics that they don't understood. Apart from all matters Royal, where the BBC employs specialist correspondents...
Remember when curt cobain died? Barely a mention on the news, meanwhile thousands of teenagers were self harming

And by modern standards not relevant. There is no doubt that he and the band mean something to those of us who frequent this board,to others?diďly squat. The band and himself were at their peak over 40 years ago. That being the case he has many many glowing tributes.

I guess my beef is that Rick has basically been reported along the lines you suggest - a popular and successful guy from the 70's. But I think that his influence is largely missed. Chuck Berry will barely get a mention when he passes. As you say, the media focus on relevance now....not on relevance overall.
