No surprises but this does sound v credible, sad though it is. And Francis sounds less harsh when he speaks than in print.

I've just listened all this and its more interesting and entertaining than I expected. He always gives better interviews away from home, I find. And this is one of them.
Whether you like the music or not, I did admire the reality that he's still genuinely enjoying making music still after 50 years. I found that hopeful to watch. Particularly as I'm feeling very jaded at the moment.
And what I took away from that is I have find other music I love as much and don't expect Quo to give me what I got before. Except from the stuff I already love. BTW- he does not say this. That is my take on his passion for the new direction.

So,the 85-95 output wasn't given a fair hearing by the fans. Aquostic 3 is going to be all post 85 songs. I'm more looking forward to World War 3 than Aquostic 3.

The time comes when you have to find other music you love as much. I thought that in 1975. I thought I never would. I was wrong, but it takes a long time and possibly various actions of fate. Some people seem to love lots of music. I like lots of music a lot, but there isn't much I love like Quo, and none for so long.

Good for clearing things up about the business Quo are in.Not great for Rick to hear the "somethings happened" stuff though..might have been better to have said "there'll never be anyone like him"..even if you don't mean it.

I don't get why he says Down Down never worked as an opening song? It was by far one of the best openers, if any song didn't work well as an opener was Whatever You Want. At least he says the setlist has been the same for the last 10 years

They should of started the set with The Oriental & Creeping Up On You, so I could had turned up for the gig's 10 minutes late.

Unfortunately the interview just continues to demonstrate to me that Rossi is false and dislikable.
Sometimes people you admire live up to the ideal. Rossi is a case that definitely does not. A former hero through action and talk is revealed as being very shallow.
In reality he would be better to say nothing and leaving some mystery.

You could argue not as shallow as those who hide behind fame and celebrity and are content to sit back and be an ideal we can just throw our money at. Perhaps he was more false in his heyday? Because he's not "that guy" anymore, we don't want to accept that the bubble has burst - maybe the mystique behind celebrity itself? - that celebs are just a bunch of tossers just like you and me on the street! Truth be told, i find his honesty a bit dry and a bit of a bore these days, his sense of humour is a bit less cheeky/stoned and more annoying/in yer face - but he is down to earth at least. #whyweshouldnthaveheroes.
