As you probably know, there's a song called Backwater on Quo's new Acoustic album..... turns out someone has already done a remix of it, just been on YouTube and found this:

It's a bit macho isn't it? Cheers Well a bit, but its ok as long as you don't have the volume too low.

Holy Crap who is that bass player and why isn't he spinning like a ballarina and winking a lot. He doesn't have a sh#t eating grin on his face and his head doesn't peck like an apoplectic chicken. He just seems sooooo out of place.

How can you take a classic strum along acoustic number as Backwater and play it with electric guitars up high, a powering bass line and powerhouse drums? The singer just shouts down the microphone as if he is in some rock band. I only see 4 musicians in the clip. That's a bit off isn't it. Only 4?? Where are the backing singers, the orchestra and the guy on the accordion that we have so come to expect from the mighty Status Quo? The atmosphere is also a bit wild isn't it? I don't think this is appropriate.
I don't know what Francis was thinking performing with these three other rock people. Fortunately, it seems to be a one off. I just consider it a period where Status Quo lost their way somewhat. But now they are back to their nursery rhythm acoustic roots with a bigger and better line up! Can't wait to twirl once more.
Go the real Quo!
