Thousands of miles away from the band I once knew. And that's not being harsh, it's being realistic.

The same issue and problem with this song as with many other by FR over the last few decades:
put it simply ; not at heart very good songs. ' They then over produce, over play and try to 'polish the turd'! (Is he trying to create a Johnny Cash American Series type album? A heart felt end of life and career statement? If he is he is failing miserably. He would need better songs and also Rick Rubin on board to produce)

OMG!! Truly shocking. Rossi has completely lost the plot - musically. Sure, play this stuff as part of a solo effort - that would be his right, even if it is dreadful music, but Quo!!!!? F me dead.

I agree with the posts above, you should've saved this song for your solo album Rossi.

Thank you for the link, deepthroat. Great thing to do, but what a waste of memory space....

I've never had a problem at all with most Quo ballads - and there are plenty that I like This is a very syrupy cross somewhere between Rock Till You Drop and Restless. The former worked - the latter didn't. This also doesn't work. Francis unfortunately sounds a bit like an old uncle singing an end of evening tribute at a wedding. Its almost his crooning equivalent to Ricks Mystery Island.

I'd bet my house that Andy Bown wrote this and not Rossi. It sounds very similar in style to a couple of songs on his recent solo album.
Not my cup of tea.

There's a tune in there somewhere. It's better than "One of Everything" - am I the only one who thinks so?

Just so disappointing. The fact that many expected it to be as it is, bland, says it all. We have grown accustomed.
