......and let's face a lot has been said in the last two weeks about refunds, line ups, the show must go on, posters for the tour and interviews... there is only one Rick Parfitt.
I can fully understand folk that have never seen Quo before and those that got into the band perhaps more recently or even over the last twenty years or so still wanting to go for the experience and to hear the songs.
I just dont see how you can go and see the latest group of guys and get a buzz if you have been following the band for longer...it is just too diluted..it was diluted before but now without RP a massive edge is missing.
Not having a go but I just feel sad that this tour, you know the title Last of etc is going ahead under the Status Quo banner without Rick and that we will probably never see him in full flow on stage again.
I just could not go..it would not be the same.
Could someone just dig out the one or two clips of him starting off Caroline on the FF 2014 Hammersmith gig..I am no good at that technical stuff.
No more words needed after you have seen that clip.
Peace and love to all.

I couldn't agree more, been going since Reading1973 (think that was the year, they were on just before The Faces) in all their different guises. But if either Rick or Francis isn't there then for me it ain't Quo. Don't know if I would be interested enough to see either of them solo.

The sound out of the guitar....The hammering he's giving it with his right hand....The pose, the look, the image... Cool as fuck! He actually looks like someone took him from the FF and put him in an 80's pop band

There is indeed only one Rick Parfitt.
And when I watch these clips, I feel a sense of victory and joy that we had one last blast of the magic when we thought we never would.

When all is said and done, Quo are gone. Dusted. They are no more. Those that watch shows under the Quo brand (and that's all it is now) are watching a Francis Rossi and Friends tribute show. How anyone can accept one original member dragging on the name is remarkable in my book. Its just gone beyond a joke now. Dublin 2014 was the end. Final fling, final closure. We wanted more but, in hindsight, that was a fitting end. As good as we were ever going to get. Its almost as if the backlash against Rossi for not continuing with the classic line up has finally made its mark. For Quo to whittle down to only him in the end is almost just deserts for Francis. He is now left with nothing. Its all gone.

Francis Rossi... the undertaker. Built the coffin, dug the grave, buried the band. The souless git doesn't hear the mourners or shed a tear.

I have a few favourite shots of parfitt from live footage but does anything beat the footage from Birmingham '89 where the camera crane comes from behind the lighting rig during the intro to mystery song?

Had an old mate in a coma, I know, it's serious.
(But let's move on.)

I was at that Birmingham '89 gig, it was a cracking performance from each member of the band at the time. I remember thinking although it lacked the rawness of the band i'd seen twice on the 1984 EOTR tour, it was loud, punchy, and still a band i could be proud of, (if only when playing live, given the dire recorded output they were inflicting on us at the time) that '89 NEC gig was 100% better than Brighton center '86 where i'd had my first glimpse of the "new" band. That was also pretty loud but was a bloody mess to my ears.
