This is not about how poor the band may or may not be live without Rick but more how special ingredient he has been to the live set.
From blasting out the opening riff of Caroline to his singing he is the cornerstone that the band sparks off.
His contribution to the Quo canon has not always been amazing but the live set has owed much to his song writing, yes along side others. Rick brought to the table Big fat mama, Rain, 4500x and Roll over lay down and Whatever you want with the iconic opening he wrote.
Have not liked a set without 4500x so for me without Big fat mama it is part of the case for no Rick, no Quo.
Lastly during the reunion, to me the man who made it work was Rick. No safety net of keyboards to fill the sound, the machine shone brightly.
Without Rick they are diminished live, only the deaf disagree.

I can't imagine anyone who saw Quo the first time not being astonished by Parfitts playing. It was one of the best parts of being on the left of the stage Parfittt watching.2013 he was in incredible form, the best he ever was.

Yes I'd agree with that. I always remember seeing EOTR for the first time. The difference between Rick and Francis playing. Rick pounding the hell out of his Tele while Francis seemed so much calmer.
