Or you might end up liking it more here then you thought... just give it time Yes there are lots of FF fans here... so ? Not nearly everyone of them is a cq hater or doesn't listen at all to CQ... for people who can't respect other people's musical choices I have no appreciation what so ever. I have been a big time FF fan for over 37 years. Doesn't mean I don't listen to CQ, doesn't mean I don't like anything of CQ cos I certainly do at times... I just prefer the FF that's all. But for me that never meant that I can't accept people who might like CQ more. Wether FF fans OR CQ fans (because believe me, I have seen the disrespectful behaviour of CQ fans towards the FF scene just as much as the other way around !) are good people to chat with is dependant on their personality, not their music choice. I don't dislike someone cos they are a CQ fan, I might dislike someone 'cos they might be an arse though lol I appreciate your point, and I would never take offense at somebody simply stating their preferences. It's when it turns into superiority thinking when I start to get annoyed. I guess there's also a "birds of a feather flock together" thing going on. And the more FF fans there are, always agreeing with each other, the higher chances are that some people get more and more arrogant about their preferences. I know the types of CQ fans you're talking about but they have always been a minority on the MBs; for the record I don't fall in any of the two categories, I think 71-77 was the golden era for sure but I enjoy a lot of what's been recorded after 2000 just because it's all about the music for me, not so much about when it was recorded. Sometimes I think people have barriers in their heads that keep them from enjoying certain songs just because they weren't recorded in that golden era - I've gone through the exact same arguments with Pink Floyd fans who hate everything the band did without Roger Waters... The birds of a feather thing goes on on both sides, seen that as much among CQ fans... So it's all relative... what matters is to try and approach someone with respect for differences, if that's not there, any decent talk stops... I dare to garantuee one thing, where there are many decent CQ fans there are just as many decent FF fans around. EDIT: Oh and btw I couldn't give a hoot when the music is recorded or not. Just care if I like it or not. Just turns out I like the music they made back then more then what they do nowadays, simple really. Nothing to do for me with having a barrier in my head, but yes, I have encountered the type that has those barriers as well. Hard to have a discussion with really.

Glad you've joined us FH, even if you only dip in now and then. btw. There are less than 200 people here so far and on Ricky's board there were around 2,000 even if many of them were silent. That could account for what you percieve as a lack of balance.

The dark ages before the reunions spotted not a minority but a flock/heap of CQ-oriented folks with an annoying attitude towards anything FF, on the official mb. They all made a glorious retreat for some reason, (TIC-graemlin) but the flak given towards anyone or anything pro-AL will never be forgotten, or forgiven... It's all going round in circles ( see what I did there?)

Dark ages inded!

It's all going round in circles ( see what I did there?) Going round in circles, directions all messed up, I go to ground on a bottle of wine, drown myself in the flood? Something along those lines?Anyway, I don't wish for any revenge-like generalisation applied here, as I had nothing to do with Quo MBs at that time and it would be unfair to justify demeaning comments against allround Quo fans or even CQ preferring folk who don't insult anybody but do get insulted. "will never be forgotten, or forgiven..." - oh nice. Guess what, my comment that some people see Quo as something religious actually did hold some truth. First of all, anybody should be forgiven at least if they apologize, and secondly, you're talking about attitudes against band members and fans, not about mass murder... As catlady said in another context, what happened in the past on sites that don't exist anymore shouldn't influence out behaviour now. It's like saying because there's right-wing extremists, we also need left-wing extremists. Guess what? We don't need extremists, period. This is my last comment on the subject.
