Obviously its up to you - but you are already posting on it.
With sensible moderators in place, a moderation policy and clear statement made to prevent the alias problem which blighted Ricky's board, then I am not sure how you come to the conclusion it is looking worse on here.
I haven't taken the time to really get an overview over this MB yet. But my initial impression was that this board is very much skewed towards one side of the Quo fanbase, with lots of exaggerated negativity, sneering and derisive remarks and a very black/white CQ hate / FF worship that doesn't really have anything to do with the music anymore. As a normal, young music fan who doesn't even have Quo in his top 3 but enjoys them very much and likes discussing them all of it is unsettling and alienating. I've signed up simply because 4th has deactivated the guest feature but as long as threads like this get through please understand that I only check in every now and then here and prefer to stay over at Cups 'n Cafe even if it can be boring over there. Why not concentrate on many members here who are perfectly capable of having pleasant discussions ? Don't judge a whole board by a couple of threads. And btw, welcome

A thick skin is required. If you read between those lines, then you will find there are a lot of great people here and a lot of fun to be had. Boisterous fun can be real fun too
I'm not exactly a nun myself , but personally I think some of the 'language' is excessive and there are one or two particular 'words' used too often that are, imo, offensive and unacceptable for that reason. I try and skip over threads where these exist and avoid posting in them.
However, put that aside, and I think that the derisive and sneering remarks about music taste, FF vs CQ, are mostly a thing of the past and although strong opinions of preference remain, I think this is mostly conducted with good respect.
Problems when they have occurred on Ricky's board were less and less to do with FF and CQ division - but due to alias trolling and back-biting, and personal spats that were largely a minority, but because they went unchecked, they grew louder than their size suggested, and contaminated the board for the majority. It is already clear as I have posted elsewhere already that practices and contingencies are in place to cater for any resurgence of those problems here - and already situations that would have run amok on the previous board have been stopped at source
I must be honest here and do think that a 'sanitised' 'us vs them' attitude exists on the C&C. Just because members there don't swear and come across less aggressive in that respect doesn't hide that fact - or somehow make it superior (in intellect, motive, purpose and raison d'etre)
Experience of splinter mb's on internet sites can often prove that breakaway factions can hold and harbour more cynical and 'us vs them' thoughts than the original purported to. Snob sanctimonious attitudes can annoy at least as much.
Don't get me wrong here, there are lots of very friendly and nice people on C&C as there are over here. I'm posting to provide balance and proper perspective- as I usually try to do
Notwithstanding that though - 'holier than thou' is not exonerative and somehow justified just because it comes with polite and expletive free language

My point is, I never linked any of this to the trolls and aliases. They annoyed me but after a while I just ignored them. As I rarely ever got involved in those personal spats it just didn't really matter much to me, even though I did dip a toe into it every now and then. So my "worse than on Ricky's MB" created some confusion but yep, I wasn't talking about those things at all. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the moderating team does something to avoid things like that happening on here. For sure. But as far as I am concerned, (and I don't really see the cynicism or a us/them attitude on C&C, just a slight lack of interesting debates - PM me if you want to point me towards some particular thread), it just makes for a more relaxed atmosphere. There had been tension on Ricky's MB when it came to musical discussions, on this board there seems to be less tension but only because everybody seems to agree with each other and this creates a feeling that somebody who has an opinion that isn't in line with the majority's isn't particularly welcome. I see signs of a cliquey attitude on here and with Ricky as a fair and impartial allround Quo fan replaced with people in charge who have clear preferences it tends to favour people who have similar preferences. I'm off to create my own forum now.... (lol, don't worry, it's for a different band...being in charge myself will definitely be interesting....!)

But as far as I am concerned, (and I don't really see the cynicism or a us/them attitude on C&C, just a slight lack of interesting debates - PM me if you want to point me towards some particular thread, I know you had some problems with Kathrin but to me it seemed to be more of a thing between you two ladies rather than a board vs board thing), it just makes for a more relaxed atmosphere. There had been tension on Ricky's MB when it came to musical discussions, on this board there seems to be less tension but only because everybody seems to agree with each other and this creates a feeling that somebody who has an opinion that isn't in line with the majority's isn't particularly welcome. My comments are general observations - differences of opinion which we all have at times with people are outside of the domain of a main forum and are not relevant (or should be mentioned!) here.

He sounds like a critic who bashed Quo originally. Fortunately, I ignore such people and judge for myself, because they are almost always wrong.

I know myself that I can be insufferable. At times. Or you might end up liking it more here then you thought... just give it time Yes there are lots of FF fans here... so ? Not nearly everyone of them is a cq hater or doesn't listen at all to CQ... for people who can't respect other people's musical choices I have no appreciation what so ever. I have been a big time FF fan for over 37 years. Doesn't mean I don't listen to CQ, doesn't mean I don't like anything of CQ cos I certainly do at times... I just prefer the FF that's all. But for me that never meant that I can't accept people who might like CQ more. Wether FF fans OR CQ fans (because believe me, I have seen the disrespectful behaviour of CQ fans towards the FF scene just as much as the other way around !) are good people to chat with is dependant on their personality, not their music choice. I don't dislike someone cos they are a CQ fan, I might dislike someone 'cos they might be an arse though lol

It's when it turns into superiority thinking when I start to get annoyed. I guess there's also a "birds of a feather flock together" thing going on. And the more FF fans there are, always agreeing with each other, the higher chances are that some people get more and more arrogant about their preferences. I know the types of CQ fans you're talking about but they have always been a minority on the MBs; for the record I don't fall in any of the two categories, I think 71-77 was the golden era for sure but I enjoy a lot of what's been recorded after 2000 just because it's all about the music for me, not so much about when it was recorded. Sometimes I think people have barriers in their heads that keep them from enjoying certain songs just because they weren't recorded in that golden era - I've gone through the exact same arguments with Pink Floyd fans who hate everything the band did without Roger Waters...
