Hi All, Viv, Thanks for the info... I think our problem will be like many others because I watch Doc's and Movies that is what bumps the price up as with many packages you have to take a lot of crap with what you actually want to view. Add to that the Licence fee,HD and Multi-room for our daughter it takes us up to just over a grand a year with the new prices so I think we'll be switching, I and the wife just cant justify the outlay........

If you have a good net connection, get an Android M8 streaming box (£50 off ebay)...and a freesat box (about £120, uses your existing Sky Dish) if you want to records stuff off non-sky channels and stick two fingers up at Murdoch..

Hi All, Although the Sky+ Box is in my name the wife usually spot on when it comes to getting a better than average deal (Ex customer service) last week just hit a dead end the operator would not budge. Having said that and having now read all the info from the sight Viv provided-Mr Martin does say that it's best at the coming end of your contract.
He also says if you don't get a discount first time around keep trying every other week or so as the Sky operators apparently have Quotas they stick to when giving out discounts. In all likelihood we have obviously come across one that had so will be trying again next week at the end of the day like he says look else where if your not happy.........

Hi Geoff. Did you read all the comments at the end of the page as well. Some of them said they were getting 60% discount I was offered 25% discount tonight and although not quite what I wanted I was happy with the result. Keep trying or maybe you could cancel and then your wife sign up as a new customer to get a good introductory deal! Have you thought about BT TV? You can get good deals with them and you get BT sports for free and add on Sky Sports 1&2 as extra channels if you watch them for the football. Though you'd lose Sky Atlantic which is no good if you watch Game of Thrones!

Hi All, Viv, Yes it does make you think that the whole Sky Tv is a con especially when half the channels are forced on you because of the way different packages are made, while at the same time you read comments like you mentioned I really am thinking of going elsewhere.
I mean that 60% they only offered us 10% off the increase basically keeping the price we pay now for the next few months so like you say probably get the wife to sign up again get a better deal..........

I wouldn't pay it! SKY repeat everything 10xs and then you have adverts every 10 mins.
Every film or TV series is available on the Internet for free.
I get all the sports channels for about £30 a month via a roku box.
